I join those who think there IS something nefarious about Donald lurking in the case….
The most plausible explanation for Trump’s approach to the Epstein files is fear
When the MAGA freakout over the Epstein files began a few weeks ago, I assumed that this was merely a case of a bunch of moronic grifters getting hoisted on their own conspiracy-loving petards. I believed that Trump et al made hay with the Epstein conspiracy because that’s what their base wanted. Pam Bondi made promises she couldn’t keep because she loved the attention and adulation that came from promising disclosure, but never considered the complications of actually releasing evidence that revealed the identities of those involved.
I assumed that the whole dustup was simply the result of incompetence rather than conspiracy. In Washington (and life), we often use Occam’s Razor as an explanation; i.e. these outcomes are a confluence of mistakes rather than a series of secretive and strategic actions. That explanation is even more likely when it comes to Trump and his circle of buffoons.
However, my view has changed in recent days. Trump’s behavior is so bizarre, so unhinged, and so counter to his short-term interests that the most likely explanation for his actions is that Trump either believes or knows that he is mentioned in the Epstein files in ways that are even more damaging than the blowback he is getting for not releasing the files.
This is, of course, speculation. There is no evidence that Trump was an Epstein “client.” But let me run through the evidence and allow you to make your own determination about why I believe Trump is mentioned in the Epstein files….
Note…
And?
No matter HOW Donald tries to deflect away from the story ?
It keeps running….
And?
The Longer it runs?
The more likely things ARE going leak out that Donald wants to stay unknown…

Trump Talks About Anything but Epstein
“Dogged for weeks over his administration’s refusal to release the Epstein files, President Trump spent the weekend posting on social media about, well, anything else,” the New York Times reports.
“On Sunday, the president railed against Senator Adam Schiff, Democrat of California, long a prime target. He attacked Samantha Power, the former administrator of USAID. He posted a fake video of former President Barack Obama being arrested and a fake photo of Mr. Obama and members of his administration in prison garb. He threatened to derail a deal for a new football stadium for the Washington Commanders if the team did not take back its old name, the Redskins.”
“Mr. Trump even at one point posted a video compilation of 25 wacky and incredible stunts, such as a fake video of a woman catching a cobra midstrike with her bare hand.”
Speaker Johnson says House won’t vote on Epstein resolution before recess
The House will not vote on a resolution calling for the release of some documents related to Jeffrey Epstein before the August recess, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) announced on Monday, despite growing GOP outcry over the Trump administration’s handling of the case.
The news came after the House Rules Committee advanced the measure last week, and as the lower chamber prepares to break for the weeks-long August recess on Thursday.
Asked if the House will vote on the resolution before leaving Washington, Johnson told reporters: “No.”….
