Cuomo goes BIG TIME in a effort to make sure he gets Good turnout in the ‘Big Apple’ from voters that where around for the Clinton 8 years as President….(Cuomo was Clinton’s HHS Sec)
Those same voters are unlikely to vote for a young, Zohran Mamdani, a progressive, Democratic Socialist that is of Indian decent…
Early voting in the Democratic Mayor Primary, that will most likely pick the next Mayor , is twice as high as the last election….
Former President Bill Clinton endorsed former Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo in the New York City mayor’s race on Sunday, giving a last-minute boost of support to Mr. Cuomo, as he urged supporters to head to the polls for the last day of early voting.
Mr. Cuomo worked in the Clinton administration as the housing secretary. The backing of the former president, as well as a taped robocall providing his support, could help turn out older voters in the tightening Democratic mayoral primary on Tuesday.
Mr. Clinton said in the robocall that he had hired Mr. Cuomo “because he knows how to get things done” and that he believed he would “stand up and protect the people of this city” from President Trump.
Mr. Clinton, 78, who lives in a Westchester County suburb north of New York, has not often weighed in on city primary races. His endorsement is another indication that some establishment Democrats prefer Mr. Cuomo to Zohran Mamdani, a state lawmaker and Democratic Socialist who is second in the polls…
…
Mr. Mamdani continued to receive his own endorsements from elected officials and cultural figures on Sunday, including Ras J. Baraka, the mayor of Newark, and the performer Lorde, who posted her support to her 11 million followers on Instagram.
The flood of endorsements in the final weeks of the campaign has reflected the ideological and generational divide between Mr. Cuomo and Mr. Mamdani and within the Democratic Party nationally. Mr. Mamdani, 33, was endorsed by prominent progressive leaders, including Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Bernie Sanders.
Mr. Cuomo, 67, was endorsed on Friday by Representative Jim Clyburn, who was once the highest-ranking Black member of Congress, and by some newspapers, including The Daily News.
Mr. Cuomo thanked Mr. Clinton on Sunday for his support and called him a “personal mentor, friend and hero,” whose “administration was one of the most accomplished in modern political history, and that’s what government is supposed to be all about.”…

Looks like Cuomo might have a big problem with the vote tomorrow. We will not know the final results for several days. It would certainly be well deserved if Cuomo loses. He belongs nowhere near any public office of trust.
However, the main alternative is a *whole* lot worse and Democrats across the country should want no part of him.
I am wondering it could take for the centrist alternative, Mr. Walden, to actually win a four way race in November.
I’ll have post later…..
Cuomo leads in the vast majority of ranked vote polls….
We’ll ALL be HUGELY Surprised if a Democratic Socialist becomes mayor of the City of New York…..
Did they actually ask Bill Clinton for his endorsement? There is probably far more of a downside to that than anything else. This probably hurt Cuomo more than it helps. Bill Clinton needs to know when to go away.
William Jefferson Clinton most likely DOES make older New Yorker’s happy….
I’m one who doesn’t see endorsements as that important…..
But it WILL HELP Cuomo…..
My sense is that Bill Clinton is unpopular among young progressives, (especially considering his parallels to Cuomo) and since RCV is so important with all this, it hurts Cuomo among those whom he was not already their first choice.
I DO expect Cuomo to win comfortably….
If he wins on the 7th ballot or whatever it will take, it will be close. He seems to be the last choice of many voters regarding their RCV preferences, and thus those anti-Cuomo votes carry over.
If it goes to 7 ballot’s Cuomo IS in trouble….
The polls were right in November
I expect them to be on point for tomorrow’s results…..
The private polling (which apparently was right in November 2024) is said to show Mandami winning on the final ballot, and that is consistent with the public poll that was just released.
There ARE about 20 polls showing Cuomo leading….
I genuinely do not think you understand what Ranked Choice Voting is or how it works.
I sure do and I think it sucks…….
Again?
Most
Not All the polls have Cuomo getting the required 50% on the first ballot.,,,,
The others don’t have enough to require more ballots to get Cuomo in..,,
He falls in the choice as the ballot’s go on with others gaining if NOT Cuomo as a choice
Their first choice
Poll out this morning STILL has Cuomo ahead..,,
He’s not getting anywhere close to 50 percent on the first several ballots.
I think Cuomo is in trouble. The left in NYC is energized behind a guy who wants to “globalize the intifada.
Big opportunity for mainstream Democrats in New York to vote for centrist Democrat Walden (running as an Independent) in November.
Ok
New Yorker’s want to see NEW YORK CITY elect a socialist mayor……
I just DO NOT THINK that would work….
But the media gets to manufacture a ‘horse race’ eh?
Why do you want a socialist mayor of NYC?
‘I’ is NOT what I typed……
It IS what this iPhone DID type
I have corrected MY comment….
Damn AI shit!
