Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the Maryland man mistakenly deported to El Salvador in March, will be returned to the US, where he will face federal criminal charges, CNN reports.
“Abrego Garcia has been indicted on two criminal counts in the in the Middle District of Tennessee: conspiracy to unlawfully transport illegal aliens for financial gain and unlawful transportation of illegal aliens for financial gain.”
New York Times: “The stunning move, which had been quietly planned for several weeks, could provide a much-needed offramp for the Trump administration, which has bitterly opposed a series of court orders to take steps to release him following his wrongful removal on March 15.”
This IS a DIRECT about face to Sterphen Miller….
It HAS come to This…..
Armed agents in tactical gear threw flash-bang grenades to disperse a crowd in Los Angeles’s Fashion District. Later, agents fired less-than-lethal ammunition at protesters outside a detention center.
…It was an extraordinary show of force. Dozens of federal agents wearing helmets and green camouflage arrived in two hulking armored trucks and other unmarked vehicles, and were soon approached by a crowd of immigrant activists and supporters. Some agents carried riot shields and others held rifles, as well as shotguns that appeared to be loaded with less-than-lethal ammunition….

If this keeps happening?
There IS gonna be problems on ALL Sides….
Zoom in: When asked about the downtown Los Angeles protest, Homeland Security assistant secretary Tricia McLaughlin said demonstrators were “assaulting ICE enforcement officers, slashing tires, defacing buildings and taxpayer funded property.”
She said in an email to Axios on Saturday 800 protesters surrounded and breached the first layer of a federal law enforcement building.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said in a statement Friday the sheriff’s department does not participation in the mass sweeps and that such enforcements are the “responsibility of federal law enforcement agencies.”
“We recognize that these reports have caused fear, anxiety and concern within our communities,” Luna said.
“We urge everyone to remain calm and peaceful as we continue to place your safety and well-being at the forefront of our efforts.”…..

Kilmar Abrego García’s return from an El Salvadoran prison signals a major White House change.
…
Miller, the front man for the White House’s political assault on judges, sent two posts on X furiously denying that Abrego García’s return — which Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi L. Noem said would never happen — is a retreat for the administration. Abrego García is “here because new evidence has resulted in a massive criminal indictment,” Miller insists, protesting too much. “He will be tried, jailed and then deported again to El Salvador.”
Maybe so. But to convict Abrego García in the United States, the executive branch has to prove he committed crimes — a nontrivial step it did not take before having him incarcerated abroad. And now that he’s back under the jurisdiction of U.S. courts, the administration will have trouble illegally deporting him a second time. Lawfully deporting him back to El Salvador would require lifting an immigration judge’s 2019 order forbidding his removal to that country.
In short, the Trump administration was using extralegal methods to punish Abrego García. Now it seems prepared to use legal methods.
That is a major change….
