The Wisconsin contest has had TENS of Millions spent on it….
From Right leaning RRH Elections.…..
This week is a busy one for elections, with a pair of special congressional generals in Florida, the Spring general election in Wisconsin, and a Mayoral primary in Omaha. Poll closing times are as follows (ET): 7p – FL-6 || 8p – FL-1 || 9p – WI & Omaha
FL-1: FL-1 is an R+18 (2020/24) seat covering the Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach areas in the western tip of the Panhandle. This seat is vacant due to the resignation of ex-Rep. Matt Gaetz (R) late last year, ahead of the release of an Ethics Committee report on his extracurricular activities….
…
In the general, Patronis as a non-controversial GOP nominee should be a strong favorite to hold the seat in the deep-red district, especially without Gaetz’s issues. Valimont’s cash can’t be ignored, but she has not received much in the way of outside support, and neither party seems to be treating the race as competitive. Thus, this race seems to be more likely about Democratic small donors burning their cash on any way to show #resistence enthusiasm than a serious bid to flip the seat. RRH Elections currently rates this general election as Safe R….
…
FL-6: FL-6 is an R+14 (2020/24) seat covering a chunk of the northeast Florida coast, from Daytona Beach to just south of St. Augustine, as well as some northern Orlando exurbs and rural territory extending inland to east of Ocala. The seat is vacant due to the appointment of Rep. Michael Waltz (R) as National Security Advisor…
…
A recent poll had Fine up by 48-44. Weil’s cash can’t be ignored, but he has not received much in the way of outside support, and until the last few days neither party had been treating him as at all a threat to win. While Fine remains a strong favorite, in recent days there seems to be an increasing sense that there is small chance that Fine could be caught napping here, and Weil could pull a major upset. RRH Elections currently rates this general election as Likely R….
…
WI-SC: Two candidates are facing off for the Wisconsin Supreme Court Seat. The seat is open because liberal incumbent Ann Walsh Bradley is not running for re-election, and will decide the balance of the 7-member court….
…
Overall, given the advantage energized liberal voters have enjoyed in low-turnout elections in the Trump era, Crawford [D] is likely a slight to moderate favorite. However, Schimel [R] is a credible candidate who could have a real chance to pull the upset….
Republicans ARE worried about the Florida House contests…
The Republican US House Majority is only a scant 5 seats…..
Republicans are pulling out all the stops ahead of the special election in Florida’s 6th Congressional District as worries of a narrower-than-expected margin grow in the district President Trump won by more than 30 points in November.
Trump called into two tele-town halls for state Sen. Randy Fine (R) in an effort to drive out the Republican base ahead of Tuesday. Meanwhile, Elon Musk’s America PAC spent roughly $10,200 in the race earlier this week and dropped another $66,000 into the race on Thursday.
The efforts come as Democratic candidate Josh Weil has outraised Fine, while an internal poll from the Republican firm Fabrizio Ward showed Weil holding a 3 point lead over Fine.
Democrats and Republicans continue to maintain that a Republican loss in the district is highly unlikely given its red lean. However, a narrow margin would give Democrats material to claim there is discontent among Republicans in Trump country. As for Republicans, Democrats’ overperformance in the polls and fundraising is too close for comfort as Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) seeks to navigate a razor-thin House margin….
Local elections by me on Tuesday. Republicans have controlled my Township for generations, perhaps forever actually, I am not sure, but for a very, very long time. I used to be very active in both the Township Party and in the government. Both used to be run by moderate Republicans. When I first got active, many were to the left of me, at least on social issues. But it is very much a Trump MAGA party now everywhere.
Democrats are challenging them and the Republicans are quite nervous. I still get all the emails and am getting a ton of texts now too about the danger of what will happen if the “Woke Progressives” take over Township government, as has happened recently in some other Cook County Townships. So, there is reason to believe that these local races may be extremely close. I do not think there is any actual polling or anything like that. A low turnout should be expected.
I will have to force myself to do something unpleasant on Tuesday and go to the polls. I have pretty much become a single-issue voter and that one issue is Donald Trump. So, barring extraordinary circumstances, in what could be a close race, I have to do the unpleasant take of voting for Democrats. The less I know about the particular candidates, the better.
I will add that every single other partisan office in regards to county, state, and federal government that touches this Township are held by Democrats, to these Township offices are literally the last outpost of what was once solidly Republican suburban Chicago territory.
This is a Township that Harris won with 59 percent (down one point from Biden’s margin) so my old Republican colleagues are right to be nervous but it also seems that state Democrats, controlled by Pritzker and all his money, never really got involved. The State Republican Party, at least what is left of it, has spent money on these races.
Back in the day, after he got elected to the US Senate, Obama tried to get involved in local races here and we were able to beat him back.
VOTE BLUE….
Make America GREAT…..AGAIN!
Ole Trump amd Musk maybe the great revival for a ailing Democratic Party after ALL?????
America is and always has been Great.
I would like for it to be good again.
So do I……
HOT DAMN CG!….
Go BLUE!
Also in Illinois on Tuesday, Richard Irvin, the Mayor of Aurora, the state’s second largest city, is facing a serious challenge for a third term by a Democrat gadfly, who defeated another Democrat, backed by establishment figures, to finish second in the first round of voting.
Years ago, I hailed the election of Irvin, a black Republican, as a rising star in the party. I was initially excited when he announced his bid for Governor in the 2022 cycle. He had a lot of establishment support and I thought he might have a chance to win a crowded primary as the kind of anti-Trump Republican he had been privately. He or the people behind him, ran a terrible campaign for Governor though, in which they decided to embrace Trump and accuse other Republican candidates of being the real anti-Trumpers. Some messy revelations about Irvin’s personal life also came to play as Governor Pritzker spent heavily on the airwaves to bolster a real MAGA die-hard, who went on to win the primary to face him. Irvin finished well back in the pack.
Since then, Irvin has only done more to tie himself to Trump and now may also lose his Mayorship this week.
Good for HIM!…..
I sense that Trump IS gonna leave a trail of unemployed GOPer’s who have NOT used the common sense and distanced themselves from ole’ Donald…

Update…..
Crawford continues to lead in the Wisconsin High Court race polls…..
We have a mayoral election here in St. Louis on Apr. 8. My Alderwoman Cara Spencer is strongly favored to defeat incumbent Tishaura Jones.
We have non partisan city elections with the primary being “approval voting” where you can vote for as many candidates you approve of and the top 2 vote getters advance to the election.
The primary was March 4 and Spencer got nearly twice the votes as Jones. Both are Democrats and considered progressive. Though Jones has been trying to portray Spencer as MAGA lite.
Good to hear from ya Scott……
The ‘Wave’ IS Developing across the country or would seem!
“The ‘Wave’ IS Developing across the country or would seem!”
Is this a serious statement? What kind of wave are you talking about?
This is a very divided country with parts that are deep red and deep blue. I gave some examples of how Democrats could do well in Chicagoland local races, where based on recent history, they should be expected to do well.
I appreciate the info on St. Louis. What it sounds like is that a somewhat less progressive Democrat might beat a more progressive Democrat in a deep blue (besides baseball) city. What kind of “wave?”
I am refering to Democrats getting win’s in the last few months ….
Silliness
Both finalists for STL mayor are called “communists” by the Republican minority here.
There was a Republican who ran this tear–Andrew Jones. He’s run for mayor the last 3 elections and for US House twice. Losing badly each time.
Republicans calling others Communist?
Ah?
Donald?
Turnout Strong as Wisconsin Decides Key Court Contest
Officials expect more than two million people will vote in the election, which will decide the partisan balance on the state’s Supreme Court. Many voters cite Elon Musk as a factor in the race…
I just got to tell the Republican Trustee candidate who called me up to remind me to vote that I already voted, though he would not like how I voted. I said my one issue is Donald Trump.
“well, we don’t have any say on Donald Trump.”
“but you voted for him, I’m sure.
“yes. i did’
“That’s why I voted against you.”
Feels good to let them know. I literally have reoccurring dreams about these conversations.
By the way, it seems like the FL 6 race may wind up not being as close as Democrats were hoping.
Wisconsin polls as a SAFE Democatic
Best Democrat’s probably could get is a split on the Florida 1st and 6th CD’s
Good for you on ur vote
Gonna be whole LOT of former GOPer’s quietly voting AGAINST the guy who took over their party
Florida 6th CD is seen to stay Republican from early voting totals….
This was expected….
1st CD also stays Republican
BiG Story is Wisconsin Supreme Court vote which should be Democratic Win
Not surprised by FL. Democrats set their expectations too high in the final days. There are far more competitive districts elsewhere in 2026. Long way to go.
I think the Democrat will win in WI, but it should be very close.
And with 65 percent of the vote in, it looks like my Township is going blue,
Yes, it certainly looks like the Republicans in my Township are done for, although the Clerk and the Assessor ran unopposed and will be around to serve with the new Dem Supervisor and four new Trustees.
I am not surprised to see that in the non-partisan open race for Arlington Heights Mayor, the candidate backed by Republicans, looks on the way to victory. This will be a big deal because it seems likely that there is a soon to be an announcement that the Chicago Bears are coming to town.
100 percent of the vote in and it is a clean sweep in my Township for the Democrats.
In the summer of 2004, I helped open up the new local GOP office and was so excited to volunteer there to help reelect President Bush and many other Republicans. Now, as the party has become something unrecognizable, I helped them turn out the lights. Thanks to Donald Trump, the ballot label Republican is politically toxic at least in this small corner of America. What a shame.
Glad to see the local swing to Democrats around ur way
Starting from the bottom ain’t bad
All the Money wasted , eh?
Some other Cook County Townships which have been Republican forever are also flipping to the Democrats tonight.
In one suburb, a 2022 Republican Congressional nominee is losing his bid for reelection for Mayor.
After the brief phone conversation I had with the incumbent Republican Trustee who went down to defeat tonight, I bet the local party finally removes me from their email lists, etc.
You have worked out ur welcome, eh?
While I am not a fan of liberal judges (or frankly the State of Wisconsin), it is great to see Elon Musk and Donald Trump taste defeat! More losses are coming.
There will be more coming their way
Wait
Richard Irvin loses in Aurora. I guess he will not be running for U.S. Senate next year.
Illinois is a blue state and everywhere in Chicagoland and in competitive areas Downstate also, it was a brutal night for Republicans.
At some point they WILL have to begin to wonder away from Trump
I say the House is going to be gone from the GOPer’s
