GOP: the party of “law and order”.
Unless it’s a rich old white male Republican. Then they can break the law disrupt order all they want.
jamesb says
Don’t have to be rich….
Criminals welcomed
jamesb says
Sex offenders preferred?
My Name Is Jack says
The ONLY conclusion one can reach via the results of the recent election?
“ The American people” have NO problem with a felon and /or a sex offender as their President.
jamesb says
Most of the American people probably Do
Most of the American population did NOT VOTE
CG says
The second part of that would be very misleading. It was a very high turnout in 2024. Keep in mind that much of the American “population” is not eligible to vote for a variety of reasons, such as being under 18.
In 1992 and 1996, we learned that character and morality were far secondary for many when they voted to elect a leader. That has become ingrained in our culture and we are where we are.
jamesb says
There ARE 330 million Americans……:
Nowhere near that voted…
jamesb says
Cook
155M+ out of 330M
CG says
Over 153 million voted in 2024. For some illogical reason, you are counting children and non-citizens in with your total, as if you believe they should have voted.
Scott P says
Oh hell if you’re gonna tsk tsk the country for electing a cad as President 3 decades ago might as well note thar the Republican Party’s de facto leader from 1994 to 1998–Newt Gingrich–was no choir boy himself.
Neither were conviced felons nor criminally liable sex offenders though.
jamesb says
Gingrich Yup…….
Ran his mouth and ended up getting a reveal, eh?
CG says
Three people I was opposed to the Presidential candidacies of every day they ran
Bill Clinton
Newt Gingrich
Donald Trump
Gingrich became Speaker, and his public adultery came to light after Clinton came into power though, so that proves my point.
CG says
About 244 million Americans were eligible to vote, which is different than registered to vote.
So, among the eligible voting population, it was about a 63 percent turnout.
CG says
Why are you citing 330 million?
Are you calling for the franchise for all non-citizens and toddlers?
jamesb says
U said the MAJORITY……
That is NOT True
And BOTH Harris and Trump got about 49% of the vote in the final count……
NOT a vast majority by any stretch
jamesb says
I’d bet that there ARE millions of kids that don’t like Trump & Co either
CG says
Uh, no james, where did I ever use the word “majority?”
However, since you used that word, I will point out that the vast majority of eligible voters voted in the 2024 election and an even vaster majority of registered voters voted in the 2024 election.
This business about “most Americans did not vote” is stupid. Many are not eligible to vote. Of course, those people did not vote.
