Hegseth is up for Sec of Defense
Patel for FBI Director
Both ARE picks because they are being sold as Trump ‘True Believers’ that he wants to ‘Shake Up’ Department’s, something Senators probably don’t want to hear…..Make things ‘Better’ would be more like it?
Some lawmakers have working relationships with agencies and will NOT be excited about political hack’s being let loose on their turf …
Hegseth has a steady flow of sexual harassment, and problems while he was in the military ….
Patell has top level national security experience, but the Congress gave FBI Director’s 10 year terms expressly so what IS going on against Wray was NOT supposed to happen….
Hegseth…..
Pete Hegseth, President-elect Trump’s embattled pick for Defense secretary, faced growing scrutiny from Republican senators Tuesday after a new set of revelations over the weekend involving allegations of alcohol abuse and sexual misconduct in his past.
“I think some of these articles are very disturbing,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told CBS News. “He obviously has a chance to defend himself here, but some of this stuff is going to be difficult.”…
…
In another sign Hegseth’s nomination could be in trouble, he planned to meet with the House Republican Study Committee on Wednesday, a source familiar with the meeting told The Hill. House lawmakers have no votes on the Hegseth nomination, but the meeting could be used to raise pressure on GOP senators to back him.

The New Yorker reported on Sunday that Hegseth was forced to step down by two nonprofit advocacy groups he ran due to mismanagement of funds, sexual impropriety and excessive drinking. NBC News reported on Tuesday that Hegseth’s drinking also worried colleagues at Fox News, where he was a weekend host until earlier this month….
…
Patel…
President-elect Trump’s nomination of Kash Patel to take over as FBI director — effectively firing current FBI Director Christopher Wray, who still has three years left in his 10-year term — has set off a firestorm on Capitol Hill.
Several Senate Republicans have already come out in support of the nomination, such as Sens. Ted Cruz (Texas) and Bill Hagerty (Tenn.), but other Republicans are on the fence….
…
Patel has also said he would “shut down the FBI Hoover building on Day One and reopen it the next day as a museum of the deep state.”
Former Trump Attorney General William Barr revealed in his memoir that he strongly opposed Trump’s inclination to appoint Patel as deputy FBI director during his first term, telling then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows it would only happen “over my dead body.”
Barr warned that “someone with no background as an agent would never be able to command the respect necessary to run the day-to-day operations of the bureau” and argued Patel didn’t have the experience to qualify for the job.
Tillis, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said Patel needs to come up with a “good answer” if asked about Barr’s view that he was unqualified to serve in the FBI’s highest ranks.
“I think those are all just things that Mr. Patel needs be ready to come up with a good answer when he starts visiting with people on Capitol Hill,” he said.
It wasn’t the only time Patel faced pushback from within the Trump administration. Then-CIA Director Gina Haspel balked when Trump wanted to install Patel as her deputy, threatening to resign at the time.
Patel’s nomination also appears to have unnerved some with regards to Wray’s future….

Ok……..
I’ve seen enough from yesterday when I did this post till this morning with rumors of Trump going back to his Florida bench for DeSantis maybe ..,.
The Florida Gov is a lousy loser option
He has a vast file of controversy that would put him in position of having to fight for himself, something he really doesn’t have to as as Governor
