Joe Biden BEAT Donald Trump to become President…..
He did some Good Things….
But he was always a US Senator and Vice President….
And?
He wasn’t a crook or a sexual predator ….
All the above cost him a second term….

James Carville called President Joe Biden the “most tragic figure in modern American politics” on his podcast, adding that Biden’s political wounds are “all so fucking self-inflicted.”
Said Carville: “I actually feel for Biden, and he knows that he fucked up. And he wasn’t crooked, he didn’t pursue bad policies, he is the most tolerant, loving, caring, non-prejudiced person you could imagine and this is what he’s faced with. It’s a fucking shame.”
It’s obvious that Biden should have never run for a second term ;however, until his disastrous debate performance,there was no general outcry for him not to do so by many Democrats ( myself included) .
Further, one who did, Cong. Dean Phillips, drew few votes as a primary candidate.
So,a lot of this is Monday morning quarterbacking.
Would Bidens early withdrawal have made a difference in the ultimate outcome?Well, there would have likely been a lively contest for the nomination.And there would have been no guarantee that VP Harris would have emerged as the nominee.
It was a close election,so an argument can be made that another Democratic nominee might have emerged victorious.However,there is certainly no guarantee and it’s just as likely that Trump would have still won .
And with that being true ,and while I now believe that Biden should have never sought another term,blaming him for the ultimate result is really nothing more than idle speculation.
One COULD say Biden BEAT Trump and Trump came back beat him back…..
Indeed Trump cried about the substitute….
There are many who say Harris was not able to get Biden of her back since he IS STILL her boss….
I have shopped my view here since the beginning
Afghanistan shaped a lot of who he was
He NEVER was a STRONG President
But he did do a good job
That was not enough against the media attention Trump longed for attracts
I mean his OWN PARTY kicked him out

Biden gave an energized and well received state of the union address in March 2024. If Carville forgot that maybe age is catching up with him too.
The Biden speech was in the Capitol, his old home….
The ‘feeling’ from it lasted 10 minutes

Thank goodness he cancelled Trump for Four Years

The SOTU was well received by Democrats because he successfully read scripted remarks when the expectations had been low. As would be expected, Republicans hated what he had to say and how he said it and were extra motivated against him.
Swing voters did not like the SOTU. That was pretty clear right away from the polling. Biden’s fans just were unable to accept then or for the remainder of the campaign that his agenda and record were as unpopular as they were. Carville makes some good points, but the fact of the matter is that a majority of the American people did think Biden pursued “bad policies.” Everyone thought being anti-Trump would be enough. I thought it might too, but elections are always about the incumbent party and performance. Biden did a tremendous amount of political damage to his party and the party label.
