Former President Donald Trump said in an interview aired Sunday that he doesn’t think he will run again in 2028 if he loses the presidency in November.
Why it matters: Trump has been the face of the Republican Party for the past three election cycles.
Driving the news: “No, I don’t. I think … that will be it. I don’t see that at all,” the GOP nominee said on “Full Measure” with Sharyl Attkisson when asked whether he saw himself running again in four years if he’s unsuccessful in 2024.
- He added, “Hopefully, we’re gonna be successful.”
What he’s saying: “It would have been easier if I did it … contiguous,” he said of launching his 2024 bid after losing the 2020 race to President Biden…..
