Trump campign cash numbers are a afterthought….
As in the polling?….
He’s falling more behind 60 days out from Election Day….
Vice President Harris‘ campaign announced Friday that it raised a staggering $361 million in August, solidifying her financial advantage over former President Trump.
Why it matters: It’s nearly triple the $130 million that Trump’s campaign said it raised in August, giving the VP an edge entering the final stretch of the 2024 campaign.
- The Harris campaign said it ended August with $404 million in cash on hand, compared to the $295 million the Trump campaign said it had.
Driving the news: Harris’ August haul surpasses the $310 million she raised in July after the 2024 race was completely upended when President Biden suspended his campaign.
- Trump’s August fundraising haul fell short of the $138.7 million he raised in July, when the Republican National Convention boosted his numbers.
- The Harris campaign touted August as the best grassroots fundraising month in history, fueled by almost three million donors.
- Both candidates’ official campaign reports are due Sep. 20.
Flashback: Harris’ August haul is just under the $365 million that Biden and the Democratic National Committee reported raising during the same period in 2020.
- Trump brought in $210 million during the same period of 2020.
The big picture: Harris’ candidacy has fueled a fundraising explosion, reversing Biden’s declining fundraising when he was still the Democratic nominee….

Is there a living Republican Vice President who will vote for this year’s Republican presidential nominee? ]Dan Quayle?]
Scott P says
The only living Republican former VPs are Quayle, Pence and Cheney. None are voting for the Republican ticket this year it seems
While he was never President or VP Bob Dole did endorse Trump and chastise never Trumper Republicans. But he’s dead now so….
CG says
Last I heard from Quayle, he was giving Biden public advice on how to debate Trump, so he doesn’t seem like he is rooting for Trump.
And I guess Biden didn’t listen to the advice well enough.
CG says
I note that if some unnamed bloggers had their way, Dick Cheney would not be alive today to vote for Kamala Harris to be President.
jamesb says
Wait?
Who did he shot?
jamesb says
And Bush II lost patience with him in the end

“Justice” is the plaything of rich white guys, but here I go again bringing up inconvenient facts to Republicans.
I’m no less glad that McCain and Cheney, in living as long as they did, got to end their public careers on high notes.

We’ll see how things shake out with a Trump loss…..
Won’t be pretty
The media will have a ball!
Democratic Socialist Dave says
Remember that many, many Republicans still loved Barry Goldwater after 1964 and Richard Nixon after Watergate.
So I’m sure that whatever happens on Guy Fawkes Day (the Fifth of November), Trump will still have a strong hold among the rank and file of what is today’s Republican Party (not Reagan’s, Bush’s, Ford’s, Ike’s or Bob Dole’s).
jamesb says
Could have TWO Republican parties next year?
