Former Rep. Liz Cheney, the once high-ranking Republican from Wyoming who torpedoed her political career by breaking forcefully with former President Donald Trump, said on Wednesday she would be voting for Vice President Kamala Harris in November, the New York Times reports.
Said Cheney: “I don’t believe we have the luxury of writing in candidates’ names, particularly in swing states. As a conservative, as someone who believes in and cares about the Constitution, I have thought deeply about this and because of the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only am I not voting for Donald Trump, but I will be voting for Kamala Harris.”

It should not go unmentioned that former Republican Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey has now said he will not vote for Trump this time. He somewhat begrudgingly had backed him in the previous runs.

Good for Pat! I hope he follows Liz Cheney’s advice and goes the extra step of voting for Harris. She’s right that those in swing states do not have the luxury of writing in someone as “concerned” Susan Collins will be doing.
Not voting isn’t enough, and this guy isn’t even running for anything anymore.
As Liz told us, it’s imperative that Trump be beaten soundly for the sake of her party.
