A University of Massachusetts Amherst poll finds a 7-point swing in the presidential race towards the Democrats since earlier this year.
The poll went from a 4-point lead for Donald Trump over Joe Biden in January to a 3-point lead for Kamala Harris over Trump this month, 46% to 43%.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. received 6% support in the recent poll.

I am starting to think it is more likely to be Walz. Just like how overconfidence in a victory caused Republicans to pick Vance of OH, the same kind of overconfidence might lead Democrats to pick Walz.
The people running the campaign, who are still the Biden holdovers, probably prefer Walz to Shapiro, because they do not think Walz is someone who plans to run for President in four or eight years, while Shapiro obviously is young enough to have an interest in doing so one day.
They are probably very attuned to all the online attacks on Shapiro, which certainly are heavily influenced by bigotry, and feel like the bigots need to be appeased. That of course is unfortunate, but the bottom line is that Walz is at least a bit to the left of Shapiro, and that is where the Democrats’ vetters hearts are.
If they cannot win Pennsylvania when all is said and done and that lets Trump get back in, it will go down in history as a very bad decision.
I will probably find out the answer when I wake up tomorrow morning.

You always read one little snippet of something and your mind takes things to illogical levels.
The people running the Harris campaign are the same people that were running the Biden campaign.
But regardless, the “professional” Democrat people, especially those who fondly remember the Obama days, might be of the mindset that everything is going great. Pennsylvania will be theirs regardless, and they should go with the more liberal of the two guys, and the one that Twitter Army will not go insane about.
Also, the Obama picked Biden because they thought he was an older guy who had no national ambitions beyond being Vice President and would be content to stay in the background. The people around the candidate now may be thinking along the same lines with Walz.

The people running the Harris campaign are the same people at the Wilmington, DE office that have been there for nearly two years now.
Perhaps she is not listening to the three old Biden hands, such as Mark Ronchetti, whom Biden seemed to rely on more than anyone else. She definitely is not listening to Hunter Biden.
David Plouffe for instance is taking on a role as a senior adviser. It is unlikely he is going to pack up and move to Wilmington or will be traveling with the candidate. It is doubtful he is directly involved in the VP interviews, etc.
Jen O’Malley Dillon, Julie Chavez Rodriguez, et al, from the Biden-Harris campaign, are all continuing in the roles they held.
We do not really know Harris’s decision making process. Her rise to become a Presidential nominee, without having to have a single person vote for her in a primary or caucus, is pretty unprecedented in modern times.
The smart decision would be to pick Shapiro, as long as they do not think that he is somehow a bad person who will be a horrible Vice President. Let 2032 take care of itself when the time comes.

I have learned that I share a birthday with Walz. The combined age of Harris/Walz is older than the combined age of Trump/Vance. Maybe the Democrats should have someone on their ticket who is not 60 years old on Election Day.
