Nicole Shanahan told the Impact Theory podcast that she and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. have to choose whether to stay in the race or drop out and join forces with Donald Trump to stop Kamala Harris.
Said Shanahan: “Not an easy decision.”
Polymarket shows the odds Kennedy may drop out are now over 60%.
RFK Jr.’s Running Mate Admits They Can’t Win
“Nicole Shanahan, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate who has invested millions of dollars of her fortune into the independent bid, said she recognized that their long-shot ticket was unlikely to win the White House this November,” Politico reports.
Said Shanahan: “They have, unfortunately, turned us into a spoiler. And we don’t want to be a spoiler. We wanted to win. We wanted a fair shot. The DNC made that impossible for us.”
CG says
Trump is saying he will appoint RFK Jr. to an Administration position. So, this is happening.
Scott P says
Just another reason to vote against any and every Republican this year. RFK Jr in ANY capacity would be a nightmare. And no elected Republican has the balls to say no to Trump.
CG says
You can certainly carve out an exception for Gov. Phil Scott (running for reelection) and Larry Hogan for Senate.
jamesb says
Hogan
Has become a man without a party
He should have signed up with the other’s at the Democratic convention
CG says
Why would Hogan do that? They are supporting his opponent.
Hogan, the Republican nominee of Maryland is not attending the D convention (or the R convention). Nor are Democrats Tester of Montana, Brown of Ohio, and Rosen of Nevada.
Scott P says
Hogan praised Trump’s Supreme Court picks. Good guy, but can’t be trusted with a senate seat
CG says
Well, you can think that if you want. As I recall, you have vehemently disliked Republicans for over 20 years, going back to when Trump was a Dem donor himself, but it is not true to say that *every* elected Republican (or one that recently was among them and is a high profile candidate now) says yes to Trump.
jamesb says
He’s trying to blunt RFK Jr hurting his polling numbers…..
Again
Kennedy went to Harris also
Another guy with no REAL allegiance to anything
CG says
Two of the Republican House Members who voted to impeach Trump are running for reelection this year. David Valadao of California and Dan Newhosue of Washington. In the latter, Newhouse will face another Republican in Washington’s general election, who is backed by Trump. So, Democrats should certainly be rooting for Newhouse there, right?
A third, Jamie Herrera-Buetler of Washington is the the Republican candidate for Washington Land Commissioner.
Scott P says
So. Richard Burr voted to convict Trump in the Senate in 2021 and is now voting for him.
Scott P says
Basically no Republican in office can be trusted until Trump is dead or in prison. Sorry but they shown time and timevagain they’ll go back to him.
CG says
Romney has been clear on Trump since Day 1, but he is retiring. Murkowski and Collins have made it clear they are not supporting Trump. They will still be in office next year.
So, the point is is not “all.”
CG says
He’s not running for anything. I do not believe the three House Members I have mentioned have gone back at all on the vote.
Scott P says
ABC News is reporting RFK Jrwill drop out by end of the week. I’m sure a plan to steal Harris/Walz thunder. That is if anyone cared about RFK the Far Lesser anyway.
jamesb says
Secret Service detail gets to go home….
He cozies up with LOSER Trump and the polling questions get shorter
Scott P says
Larry Sabato points out how Trump/Vance teaming up with RFK Jr just enforces the “Weird” brand.
CG says
Trump and the Kennedys were always made for one another.
