Joe Biden’s campaign chair urged staffers Thursday to tune out “crazy f***ing gossip land world,” according to an audio recording of an all-hands call obtained by Axios.
Why it matters: It was the third all-staff call Biden campaign leadership has held since last Wednesday as they try to fix low morale and disillusionment among their staff.
Driving the news: Chair Jen O’Malley Dillon was candid about how difficult the fallout has been in the two weeks since the debate.
- “We had two very, very, very hard weeks, very bad weeks. I told you I’d level with you, they’ve been bad fucking weeks,” she said.
- “This two week window has really sucked, and it is hard, there is no doubt about it. And it’s hard for all of us because we are doing the job,” she said.
- She added that Biden’s top political adviser Mike Donilon has been saying in meetings since the debate that “he’s never seen a presidential candidate have more thrown at him than Joe Biden and do you know what Joe Biden does every day? He gets up and he keeps fighting.”
- She added: “If we can get through these two weeks that we’re living through, we can get through anything.”…..
A new NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll finds Joe Biden actually gained a point since the presidential debate and now leads Donald Trump nationally, 50% to 48%, in a head-to-head matchup.
But Biden slips when third-party options are introduced, with Trump holding the slightest advantage with 43% to 42%.
Key takeaway: “The results reflect the hyperpolarized political environment in the country and the reality that both of the major parties’ presumptive nominees bring with them significant disadvantages. Majorities of those surveyed continue to say they have a negative opinion of both men, and neither, they say, should be on the ballot at all.”

Nothing above can change the ‘Polls’ which ARE NOT what Biden & Co. and a lot of us are happy about….
And hope will change or are wrong….
And at this stage, Mr. Biden’s chances increasingly rely on the possibility that the polls are simply “wrong.” He could retake the lead in the polling before November, of course, but given the stability in the polls so far, it may be unrealistic to expect such a pronounced shift toward him.
Mr. Biden himself appears to be counting on the polls being “wrong.” In his interview with George Stephanopoulos of ABC last week, he questioned whether polling was “as accurate as it used to be.”
Is he right? Will the polls be wrong again?
The unsatisfying truth is that no one knows.
It’s extremely difficult to anticipate polling errors in advance. We won’t know whether this is a “good” or “bad” year for the polls until the final results in November….

More importantly than that, any Democrat is more capable of serving a four year term as President and fulfilling the duties of President. To suggest that Biden will be able to serve as President in any sort of an effective manner until 2029 is a Trump-like fraud.
The clock is ticking. Democrats will either need to force him out or go off the cliff with him, like lemmings.

Of course, what is being left out is that Clyburn and Pelosi keep saying things like, “We know President Biden will make the right decision.” Despite Biden saying he has made a decision to stay, they are obviously telling him to make another decision. Hakeem Jeffries went to the White House last night and told Biden that House Democrats want him to drop out. Every day that the inevitable is delayed, the tougher the task would be for Harris (or whomever.)
All three HAVE spoken to Biden who seems to dig in MORE after their conversations….
Of course Biden HAS seen the Marist poll with him AHEAD and the three standing by doing NO BETTER than him….
