putting him on the defensive over his character is one thing. Harris seems far more effective at it than Biden, but everyone has basically already made up their mind on that matter.
She should push the prosecutor angle, but it is a very different situation than her run in the 2020 primary season, where she was competing in the same lane as Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren and basically had to apologize for being a prosecutor,. and in the process took some very far-left positions in those months, which are of course going to be used against her now.

That’s not the reason Democrats are in a better place now. She may be able to present a stronger case on that front, but it does not explain the immediate impact. “Regular people” are not watching rallies.
She has improved the Democrats’ situation because she is not Joe Biden and she is not 80 plus years old. Donald Trump remains unpopular. That is the bottom line.
Last week Democrats had about a 25 percent chance of winning the Presidency. Now, it is about a 50 percent chance.

Yeah I would rate it about 50/50.
Although ,if pressed ,I would still rate Trump a slight favorite.
I think Harris probably has a very slight edge looking forward, as of this point.
Democrats have to stop trying to coalesce their base, which they have been stuck on all year, and do more to reach out to the relatively small amount of swing voters out there.

Unfortunately however, there are many Republicans who are anti-Ukraine and many Democrats who are virulently anti-Israel, which complicates things for the nominees of those parties, so it is probably not much of a secret which candidate the respective leaders of those nations want to win, and again, you cannot blame them for feeling that way.
