Here is a partial transcript of the video –
While I certainly don’t agree with President Biden on everything, and I never thought I’d be endorsing a Democrat for president, I know that he will always protect the very thing that makes America the best country in the world: our democracy.
Trump poses a threat to every fundamental American value.
He doesn’t care about the country.
He doesn’t care about you.
He cares only about himself.
And he’ll hurt anyone or anything in pursuit of power. He’s called for a “termination” of the constitution.
He wants to be a dictator on day one.
He’s continuing to stoke the flames of political violence. There’s too much at stake to sit this one out.
To every American of every political party and those of none, I say now is not the time to watch quietly as Donald Trump threatens the future of America. Now is the time to unite behind Joe Biden and show Donald Trump off the stage once and for all….
…
Kinzinger is a staunch Trump critic, and since he retired from Congress in 2022, he has gained prominence as a national commentator on CNN. The Illinois Republican served in the U.S. Air Force and flew missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The former congressman told CNN on Wednesday morning his decision to endorse Biden over Trump wasn’t a difficult one.
“I guess I wrestled to the extent of like, okay, you know, endorsing a Democrat as a Republican is a big deal,” he said. “But to me, it wasn’t much … I didn’t have to look in the mirror and look into my soul or anything like that.”
He added that the former president has created “a culture of just anger and division” and that he wants his child to be raised in a country where people look up to “decency in the greatest office in the land.”…

‘I’m not backing Trump’: Top official in RI’s GOP would rather give up his post than back Trump
Story by Katherine Gregg, Providence Journal
PROVIDENCE – When President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, others in his party insisted it was rigged.
When Trump was convicted on 34 felony counts by a New York jury, his party-mates again implied it was rigged.
Steve Frias begged to differ.
Despite his high-ranked position within the Rhode Island GOP, Frias was the only Rhode Island Republican who, when asked where he stood on Trump’s conviction, publicly said:
“It is not rigged … [And] I am not going to attack judges, whether they are a New York state court judge or a United States Supreme Court Justice. I believe in the rule of law. Period.”
In the days leading up to that statement, Frias quietly alerted his colleagues in the state Republican Party that he would not run again be one of Rhode Island’s two representatives on the Republican National Committee.
Why it matters
In the 12 years he was Rhode Island’s Republican National Committeeman, Frias got to travel to wherever the party poo-bahs were meeting and have a say in party rules, policies and strategy to promote the Republican political platform and the “party brand” and help coordinate fundraising and election strategy.
Among the other expectations: that, as a national committeeman, he would wholeheartedly support the party’s nominee for president.
That, he decided, he cannot do.
The jury’s verdict in the New York hush money case had not yet come down, when Frias, 51, informed party leaders on June 2 that while it had been “an honor,” he would not run again for the RNC post when the party gathers later this month.
Why?
“I disagree with the direction the national party is headed, so it’s time for me to move on and for someone else to be on the RNC,” he wrote, while pledging to “continue to help other Republicans as I’ve done in the past.”
And with that, Frias – who says he has no plans to run for any elected office – has set himself apart from many of his fellow Republicans in a state where they are 14% of the electorate and hold 14 seats in the 113-member General Assembly….

Yes DSD..,,..
There ARE MORE out there that WILL quietly ‘do the Right thing’ on the ballot
My Name Is Jack says
Nate Silver says the election is not a toss up and the Trump has about a 66% chance of winning.
Democratic Socialist Dave says
May Heaven preserve the Republic !!
jamesb says
Hopefully!
jamesb says
And the Marqette post in PWire has them guys tied…..
Silver has been consistent in feeling Trump is lead based SOLEY. On the polls….,
Nate Cohen on the other hand has a toe, bit Biden ahead on the underlying ‘consistent fundamental’s ’’ like support from indies, minorities, incumbency and not being a convicted felon @ 78 years old…
CG says
Qunnipiac which has produced the best polling results for Biden thus far this year just released a poll that now shows Trump ahead by four points.
Needless to say, tomorrow night is a big deal. If it goes badly for Biden, and Democrats are serious about preserving the Republic, they are going to have to come to a very difficult conclusion about the top of the ticket.
CG says
The margin is six points in a 5 way race. RFK and the other leftists running combine for 16 percent.
jamesb says
I agree the debate WILL be important for Biden, who has been studying while Trump just hangs out disdaining any prep……
He will just bring his ole road show to the stage……
Style…. NOT SUBSTANCE
CG says
The Biden campaign is of the belief that Trump is actually spending a lot of time preparing and practicing for the debate. I think they are correct.
jamesb says
I don’t…….
And DO think Trump & Co think he WILL LOSE
jamesb says
The new Q poll has to be a outlier…..
jamesb says
Biden is shown making progress against Trump since the SOTI speech across the board….
Current polls have Biden and Trump essentially tied……
Now the Q poll comes out COMPLETELY OPPOSITE virtually ALL the current polling?????
CG says
I think you are seeing things you want to see.
jamesb says
We ALL see things the way we want
Check Trump aimed social media comments!!!
jamesb says
CG?
Go over to RCP and check the latest polls…..
There are NO wide swings….
CG says
Yes. Trump has been basically tied or ahead of Biden ever simple Alvin Bragg indicted him.
CG says
since*
jamesb says
Wait CG……..
The poll is messed up.,..
It’s like Blacks and Hispanic voters are for Trump????
CG says
I have no idea what the internals of the poll show or if the poll is “good” or not. I just know that Quinnipiac started off the year showing Biden ahead by 5 and with each new edition of their poll, it has gotten progressively worse for him and now shows Trump up by a similar margin.
All national polls show a statistically tied race. Of course, all that matters are the swing state polls, and Trump is either tied or ahead in basically all of those states. Four years ago, Biden was consistently tied or ahead in all of those states and in national polls and he wound up winning.
Something has to happen to shake up the race or it is going to be a very dangerous slog until November. Tomorrow will be a big chance. If it goes badly for Biden, the situation will look worse. Maybe it won’t.

Update
Nato Cohen ads todays Sienna poll to the Q poll as another outlier
Q has Trump ahead by 4 i believe
And Sienna has Trump at +6
These two polls are counter most other polls out today and in the last few days….
Happens sometimes….
I was expecting this pushback
jamesb says
Right before the Debate, eh?
CG says
Forget national polls. Biden should have an edge in those.
All that really matters on the eve of the first debate are these states. Right now, it is not a pretty picture.
https://www.realclearpolling.com/elections/president/2024/battleground-states
jamesb says
Agreed…….
But the margins in the states he’ll win in November are less than 5% and that could be MOE’s
Let’s face it….
Trump OS campaigning in stars he KNOWS he gonna get
Pa, Wisc, Mich……
Gonna be close
But I’m sticking with a Biden Win
The next few days WILL BE INTERESTING
Democratic Socialist Dave says
Those battleground state polls are alarming.
Even in deep-blue Rhode Island (last GOP vote: 1984) Biden’s lead has shrunk from 21% to 7%.
Democratic Socialist Dave says
That is, Biden’s lead in the Nov. 2020 election in R.I. was 21% over Trump; the latest local poll shows a lead of only 7%, with Biden below 50%.
jamesb says
And the Electoral vote Elects a President….NOT the National vote….
My Name Is Jack says
There’s a revelation!
