About half of Americans believe former President Trump should end his campaign, describing his guilty verdict as “correct,” according to a new ABC News/Ipsos poll published Sunday.
Trump was convicted Thursday of 34 felony counts of falsifying business documents, the first time a former president was ever convicted of a crime. He has appealed the ruling.
And while some who think Trump should drop out will vote for him in the end it is also true that some who do not think he should drop out will never vote for him.
I do not necessarily buy this, but a ton of Republicans, including many who do not like Trump, are convinced that the conviction will now guarantee his victory in November. MAGA folks are talking that the Governor of NY will have no choice but to pardon him in order to try to save the election, and they say Trump should refuse Hochul’s pardon. Many of them are also convinced the judge will have him behind bars at the time of the Republican Convention or in the other weeks leading up to the election and that will cause him to win. (The latter circumstance might actually have some more logic behind it, but I do not think he will be behind bars before the election.)
Of course james, and many other Democrats would be those saying they DO NOT want Trump to drop out of this year’s race, even if the risk is that he is elected President.
Of course Republicans say this is beneficial to Trump. They’d say the same thing about an acquittal. They’re fucking liars!
Heck they say it if Trump gunned down someone in plain view…..
