“Donald Trump agreed on Friday to a third presidential debate hosted by NBC News as the network continued to scramble to secure a televised debate slot,” Semaforreports.
“The third proposed debate caught the Biden campaign by surprise, and was the result of behind-the-scenes discussions between the Trump campaign and NBC News without the Biden team’s participation.”

So we’re back to the “ debates.”
As is well known here, I’ve never been a fan of these so called “ debates.”Since I find them nothing but inflated” gotcha” moments with a cadre of “ journalists “ literally competing with each other to see who can ask the most outrageous question to “ catch” one of the candidates saying something untoward ( although in the era of Trump almost everything that comes out of his mouth might fit that ).
I see where there will be no live audience for these encounters.Thats one positive I guess. So , at least we will have the facade of a real debate rather than the farce of competing campaign rallies with the so called “ debate” nothing but a backdrop.
In my view the only effect,if any, of these events will be the performance of Joe Biden.I mean we know what Trump is going to do..Lie from the opening question .However, all eyes will be on Biden to see if he shows the least effects of age with the requisite comparison between his performance now and four years ago.
Indeed, former Republican presidential candidate, John Kasich floated the possibility that Biden still might be dumped as the Democratic presidential candidate, presumably with a literal breakdown at these debates possibly heralding such.
Let the games begin!
