Florida’s Six Week ban could just be what Democrats use to squeek out some surprising win’s?
Yet some experts like Michael Binder, faculty director of the University of North Florida’s Public Opinion Research Laboratory, are skeptical that vulnerable GOP state lawmakers could be in further trouble over their vote on the six-week abortion ban alone.
Binder noted “there is a ballot measure that is out there that expands and enshrines abortion rights into the state constitution, and that is certainly something where you could see some folks maybe voting for a Republican but also voting ‘yes.’”
“It could also maybe motivate a few more people to come out that might otherwise not come out,” he added. “Not a lot, but a few.”
Some Republicans also say they are skeptical, noting factors like candidate quality and other top issues among voters.
“Overall, having the six-week abortion ban, reproductive rights amendment on the ballot is a net plus in terms of Democratic voter turnout,” said Justin Sayfie, a Florida-based Republican strategist. “But the challenge for the Democratic Party in Florida in these state House and state Senate races is putting up viable candidates.”
Florida Democrats say they are up for that challenge, announcing a recruitment effort earlier this month to bring in candidates for every state and federal legislative office. …

Biden and Mucarsel-Powell have both zeroed in on abortion as a key campaign issue in the state. Earlier this week, the president made a campaign stop in Tampa, taking the opportunity to slam Florida’s six-week abortion ban, which is slated to go into effect next week. Meanwhile, Vice President Harris is slated to deliver remarks in Jacksonville the day the ban takes effect….

A separate USA Today/Ipsos poll from earlier this month found that 57 percent of voters said they would vote to expand abortion access through the ballot measure….

The Democratic Coalition in South Florida that propelled former President Obama to Victory in Florida during the 2008 & 2012 Presidential Elections is GONE per former Obama Campaign Manager David Plouffe. Plouffe made the on-air remarks during the 2022 MSNBC Election Night Coverage.
Now President Biden thinks he can rebuilt that coalition in less than 6 Months? It’s going to take years to rebuilt it if not even a decade.
When former President Obama won Florida in 2012 by about a Point Florida Democrats had a 600,000 Voter Registration Advantage.
When former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ran in 2016 Florida Democrats still had a 400,000 Registration Advantage over Democrats.
When Governor Ron DeSantis took Office in January 2019 Democrats still outnumbered Republicans by about 300,000.
When Candidate Joe Biden ran in 2020 Democrats still owned a 134,000 lead over Democrats.
Since then South Florida, particularly Palm Beach & Miami-Dade Counties underwent a massive shift to the right primarily for Republicans & Independents who came from Lockdown States like New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Michigan, California and Wisconsin.
For starters Miami-Dade County is 70 % Hispanic and while Cubans have been traditionally a big voting bloc for Republicans the GOP has made massive inroads into other Hispanic Subgroups like Venezuelan Hispanics, Colombians, Nicaraguans and even people from Guatemala.
In 2016 Hillary Clinton carried Miami-Dade County by 290,000+ Votes, a 30-Point margin, 64-34.
In 2020 then Candidate Joe Biden carried Miami-Dade by only 86,000 Votes or 8 Points, 54-46.
Meanwhile during the 2022 Midterms Governor DeSantis & Senator Rubio carried the County by an impressive 80,000 and 68,000 Votes.
Days after President Biden visited Tampa Florida Republicans reached an unprecedented 900,000+ Registration lead, a 1,1M Registration Shift since Biden last ran in 2020.
Also, Biden did not visit any Swing Areas of the State. He did go into a “Safe Place”, Center City Tampa. That’s the bluest of bluest area in Tampa represented by Rep. Kathy Castor (D-FL 14) in Congress.
