The House has passed a $61 billion aid package for the war in Ukraine, sending the bill to the Senate for likely consideration next week, Punchbowl News reports.
The bill passed 311 to 112.
A stunning 112 Republicans voted no, while every Democrat backed the bill.
Meanwhile, a $26 billion aid package for Israel passed 366 to 58, with 37 Democrats and 21 Republicans voting against the bill.…

“Conservatives have made it abundantly clear they detest Speaker Mike Johnson’s decision to work with Democrats. To other Republicans, it’s a necessary evil — specifically because of those hardliner colleagues,” Politico reports.
“Many centrist Republicans said on Friday that Johnson has been left with no other choice, given threats to his speakership and unwieldy demands for border security language that could never pass the Democratic-led Senate and President Joe Biden.”
