From Republicans….
Why NO charges?
From Democrats….
How can you determine the President’s mental status….
And?
Robert Hur seems to NOT rule out taking a spot of asked to in a Trump admin……
The guy has no Friends ….
Robert K. Hur, the special counsel whose investigation of President Biden’s handling of classified documents raised questions about the president’s mental acuity, defended his inclusion of the disparaging remarks on Tuesday during a hearing before the House Judiciary Committee.
In February, Mr. Hur concluded a yearlong investigation into Mr. Biden’s retention of sensitive government documents by finding that the president should face no criminal charges. But Mr. Hur, using language Mr. Biden’s team saw as gratuitous, politically damaging and outside his job description, described the octogenarian president as “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” likely to be acquitted by any jury.
Mr. Hur, 51, began the hearing as a uniquely unifying figure in divided Washington — a man disdained by Democrats and Republicans alike. He is facing withering questioning from both parties as he explains his exoneration of Mr. Biden and the barbed prose in his 345-page report.
He pushed back against criticism of his report, telling the committee that his unflattering description of Mr. Biden was required to “show my work” to justify why he did not charge the president after uncovering some evidence that he had knowingly held onto classified documents. “I could not make that determination without assessing the president’s state of mind,” he said.
The hearing began with the Republican chairman of the committee, Representative Jim Jordan, questioning the fairness of prosecuting former President Donald J. Trump and not Mr. Biden — even though Mr. Hur has said Mr. Trump’s actions were incomparably worse. The opening statements from committee members made clear the hearing would be something of a proxy battle for the coming presidential contest: Republicans played a video of Mr. Biden’s news conference after the Hur report was released, while Democrats played a highlight reel of miscues by Mr. Trump.
Here’s what else to know:
-
Republicans are peppering Mr. Hur about his interactions with Justice Department officials and his legal justifications for not charging Mr. Biden, despite finding evidence suggesting that he knew some of the material he possessed was secret. The representatives have also used the hearing to stoke concern about his age and memory.
-
Democrats are criticizing Mr. Hur for making broad assertions about Mr. Biden’s memory and trying to undermine his authority to make such an assessment, presenting the report as purposeful, politically motivated and over the top.
-
Mr. Hur is testifying as a private citizen, not a Justice Department employee: As of Monday, he had resigned as special counsel and will be represented by a private lawyer, William A. Burck, according to a department spokesman. Mr. Burck, former deputy counsel in the George W. Bush White House, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
-
The political stakes of Tuesday’s hearing, while still high, are on display days after Mr. Biden delivered a fiery defense of his presidency during a State of the Union speech that seemed to address some of the concerns about age and mental fitness raised by the special counsel.
-
It is not unusual for witnesses in federal cases to cite their faulty recollections in interviews with investigators, particularly about events that occurred years earlier. But Mr. Hur included references to Mr. Biden’s memory that did not relate directly to retaining classified documents — including the president’s struggle to recall the year (2015) when his son Beau died…..
…
Former Justice Department Special Counsel Robert Hur on Tuesday declined to rule out accepting an appointment from Donald Trump if the former president were to return to the White House.
During Hur’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee about his report on President Joe Biden’s handling of classified documents, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) questioned the former special counsel about his avowal that he wants his findings to be seen as credible.
The Californian then asked Hur — who was tapped for a U.S. attorney position by Trump — if he would pledge not to accept any future Trump appointment as a way to increase his report’s credibility.
Hur demurred, telling Swalwell that “I’m not here to offer any opinions about” future developments.
Hur’s response to Swalwell followed an earlier reply to Rep. Hank Johnson (R-Ga.) — who more pointedly alleged that his report was geared toward earning a future appointment in a GOP administration — that he has “no such aspirations.”
Former Justice Department special counsel Robert Hur made one thing directly clear to lawmakers on Tuesday: His report did not draw a conclusion that Biden is “senile.”
Rep. Scott Fitzgerald (R-Wis.) read a dictionary definition of the word to Hur, adding: “Did you find that the president was senile?”
Hur responded: “That conclusion does not appear in my report.”…

Weird that now that the Hur transcripts are out CG is nowhere to be found.
Mr. “Rarely Wrong” got completely duped into believing another FOX News lie that doesn’t hold up.
Sad.

So in the transcripts Biden knew the day his son passed–May 30–and then said “was it 2015? Yeah 2015”.
And that was what Hur hung his hat on to say Biden was senile.
Weak sauce.

james, please go into your filter so you can post my “reply” to Scott. It is not coming up.

Scot.t, you are thirs.ty and sad. Please find a new hob.by. The fra.tbo.y days need to end. Thank you for no longer making dr.unk.en deat.h thre.ats against me anymore though.
I am glad the transcripts are out. Everything I said about is correct. Biden is the one who brought up his son’s de,ath in the interview, not Hur. Biden sha.mefully lied about that aspect during his panic.ked press conference. Someone else in the room had to say 2015 so that Biden could recall the year Had this not been part of the report, it would have come out with the transcripts and been a huge story then. Better for Biden to have gotten it out of the way weeks ago you should think. I care less about that than his not remembering which years he was Vice President. Biden was not so distra.cted in dealing with the October 7 atta, cks, that he was unable to speak at great lengths and filibust.er and make car sounds during the interview on 10/.8.. Biden was not exone.rated by Hur, but no charges was appropriate as he cooperated in fixing his serious errors with classifi.ed documents, and Trump did not.
Hur came across very well. Anybody who pis.ses off the preen.ing politicians on both sides is doing something right. He seems like one of the few honorable people in Washington.

I don’t know what you consider “frat boy” behavior. As for hobbies I’m not the one who wasted years of his life dedicating it to a political party that has kicked me to the curb in favor of a fat orange fascist.
I’m going to ignore your “thirsty” comment as that’s just weird but “sad”? That’s a projection I’m afraid. Examine your own life and what you have dedicated it to and ask yourself why you’d want to keep carrying water for those who kick you to the curb in favor of holocaust deniers.
It’s never too late to start the rest of your life and I hope you get out and enjoy it before it’s too late.

i’ve tried breaking up every single word of the post trying to get it to appear, but its not working. James, please post it so Scott can have peace of mind.
CG says
If james cannot post my substantive reply that I took the time to write, when I should be getting ready for work, regarding the transcripts and yesterday’s testimony, Scott can go read my next Saturday blog entry, as I know he does weekly. That post will not include some remarks directed personally to him, as that would not be the right place to do that.

The boy who regularly complains about “personal attacks” is making personal attacks. How very Republican. Was Corey barefoot and sitting in his kitchen when he typed these words?
For once I agree with James, Hur was made to essentially take back all of his snarky conclusions from a report that then exonerated Joe Biden of any wrong doing. I loved it when the good lady from Pennsylvania made him read his own words that directly contradicted his conclusions.
The fact that this is once again a topic of discussion is owed to our “what about” friend.
Scott, from what I can see from FB enjoys his life, his girlfriend, his friends and neighbors and even a wonderful pet. I detect some serious jealousy here. The type of jealousy that engenders on line stalking.
The faux outrage over the use of an American saying that’s as old as our Nation was amusing, but this current line of obsession is nuts.
Again, it’s a binary choice in November. You either vote for Trump or Biden. The choice, an autocrat or Democracy.

May i add to this and Jack will back me up….
I testimony?
If u don’t remember something
U answer’i don’t’ remember or recall’
Guessing about something u do NOT DISTINCTLY remember and the lawyer asking the question maybe knows or wants u to walk into a trap is NOT recommended.
