Donald Trump WILL beat the former GOP Governor of the state Nikki Haley….
The question is?
By How Much?
It’s Primary Day (again) in South Carolina. This time, voters will cast ballots in the state’s Republican contest, where former President Donald J. Trump is widely expected to notch another decisive victory on his path to securing the G.O.P. nomination for president.
Palmetto State voters have long been heralded as deciders of presidential primaries — Republican candidates who have won here have gone on to clinch their party’s nomination in 10 of the last 11 presidential cycles. But this year, the dynamics of the Republican primary field have largely diminished the state’s bellwether status. Mr. Trump remains the overwhelming front-runner in the state with only one major opponent still in the race, Nikki Haley, a former governor of South Carolina. Most polls show Mr. Trump trouncing her by more than 20 points in her home state.
But Ms. Haley says she will stay in the race regardless of Saturday’s outcome. Bolstered by a cash influx that is keeping her long-shot campaign afloat, Ms. Haley, an ambassador to the United Nations under Mr. Trump, has pledged in stump speeches and interviews to campaign through Super Tuesday, on March 5. On Friday, her campaign manager announced a seven-figure ad buy to run in an unspecified number of the 15 Super Tuesday states, where 874 Republican delegates are up for the taking.
Here’s what else to know about Saturday’s election:
-
Voting will take place in all 46 of South Carolina’s counties. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern time (voters can find their polling location here). The state has an open primary system, so members of either party are eligible to cast a ballot, but they have to pick which contest they want to participate in. That means anyone who voted in the Democratic primary on Feb. 3 is ineligible to vote on Saturday…

60-40…not a terrible showing for Haley, but she doesn’t have a shot…though Super Tuesday she could maybe win a Democratic state…and that is a maybe..I haven’t viewed any polling just an off the cuff remark…
I’d be okay if she was president…she ain’t bat shit crazy and she wouldn’t push the country to far right…the worry now is the house…that is really up for grabs this year…
jamesb says
She’s trying to wait out till Super Tuesday……
Maybe the NYC DA and NYS AG will weaken him….
I doubt it fro GOPer’s…..
For the general public I think ‘The Donald’ WILL lose votes ….
She’s just tooooooo damn late, besides being a woman of color for Republicans….
jamesb says
I know I’m gonna hear it here….
