Special Counsel Hur IS coming under criticism for some of his comments about President Biden, who has been counsel’s to NOT give inaccurate answers to questions that could come back to get him trouble….
This is horrific for Biden. There is no other way to spin it. I take zero joy in any of this because I definitely do not want Trump to be President. I also would like to think Trump will be held criminally responsible for what he did in regards to classified documents. On both fronts, Trump just received two huge steps forward.
The only spin the Biden team might be able to give is that he just pretended to be forgetful and incompetent with his memory in order to avoid criminal charges, If so, it looks like that could have worked, but at the same time, you cannot ask the American people to elect you as President.
The report basically says Biden would be charged with a crime if not for the belief a jury would not convict him because of age and memory problems.
Biden released a statement a short time ago today saying he was too distracted and pre-occupied with his duties as President during the interview with investigators.
That is a very problematic excuse.
If nothing else, I think we now know the reason Biden won’t do the traditional Super Bowl pre-game show interview again this year.

You’re positively giddy over this. Your own party hates you but ever since pulling the lever for Biden you’ve regretted it. It started when Biden didn’t put a Republican in at some low level cabinet position. Since then it’s just been pining over a Republican challenge to Trump that we all knew was going nowheres to pining over a fill in the blank independent that has yet to emerge.
Now it’s just chaos that you love. So in that way you are pretty similar to Trumpistas.
I know you weren’t voting for Biden again but if he dropped out tomorrow you’d have a problem with whoever became the nominee. .
Not giddy over this. I feel very uneasy about all of it, even as a non-Biden fan. I have consistently defended him in the past against right-wingers who I felt overreached claiming he had dementia issues. One could perhaps make the case that I feel somewhat giddy when something bad happens to Trump. I admit to that to some extent, but this is different.
This is not good for the country and it is not good for keeping Trump out of office. So, not at all “giddy.” I am very anti-chaos.

The report does have a pretty big revelation that has gotten lost amid all the coverage. Biden discovered in 2017 that he had classified documents in his garage or “downstairs” that he did not know he had and he told that directly to his co-author at that time. He did not do anything to return the documents at that time in 2017 but held on to them, knowing they were classified.
Only after the Trump news about documents broke, by which time Biden was President, did he seek to have this stuff returned. Yes, he cooperated at that time, (unlike Trump) but he could have and should have years earlier. They way they talked about it at the time in early 2022 was that they were surprised he had those documents in Delaware and that appears to be completely false.
Biden at least shared classified info with someone writing a book about him. Trump shared it with someone writing a book about Mark Meadows.
