Donald Trump HAS BEEN taking hits from ther E. Jean Carroll sexual misconduct deformation case…..
Joe Biden HAS BEEN starting to take political punches at Trump…
And?
The Right WingNuts in Congress have STOPPED things from being done…
ALL of this in the media seems to be helping President Biden who has seen the ‘anybody but Joe thing’ GONE….
President Biden’s approval rating has ticked up among independents since last month, and he’s seen a bump in his support among Democrats in the party’s presidential primary race, new polling shows.
The latest Emerson College Polling national survey puts Biden at a 37-percent approval rating among independents, four points up from December, when just 33 percent of that group said they approved of his handling of the presidency.
“Although still underwater, this reflects a positive shift. Additionally, his disapproval among independents has decreased from 52% to 45%,” said Spencer Kimball, Emerson College Polling’s executive director, in the report.
As he campaigns for another four years in the White House, Biden’s overall approval rating sits at 42 percent, relatively steady from last month, when it was 41 percent….
…
Nearly three-quarters, or 72 percent, of Democratic primary voters support Biden as the nominee — up nine points from December.
Rep. Dean Phillips (Minn.) and Marianne Williamson scored just 4 percent each. Another 19 percent of voters are undecided.
“Biden has successfully strengthened his support among Democratic Primary voters, with undecided voters decreasing from 30% to 19% and his share of support increasing from 63% to 72%,” Kimball said.
Biden and former President Trump, the Republican frontrunner, were neck-and-neck in a hypothetical head-to-head 2024 matchup in the poll….

Same poll has Haley ahead of Biden by 5
CG says
Those are the one on one results.
When multiple leftwing candidates are included, such as Kennedy and West, Biden’s lead over Trump narrows.
Against Haley and the other left-wingers, Biden has a lead, as nearly a quarter of Republicans flock to RFK Jr without Trump as an option.

Joe Biden seems to FINALLY rising up….
Confirmation polling will make me feel better….

BTW?
Haley can’t beat Trump?
She can’t beat Biden and she won’t get a chance….
Keep looking for Trump‼️
jamesb says
I will post up the Q poll a bit later
CG says
Clearly, she could beat Biden in a one on one race if given the chance.
Doesn’t mean she will get the chance, but if you are sure based on one poll that Biden beats Trump, the same poll shows Haley beats Biden.
There are simply a lot of people who would vote for Biden against Trump but would vote for Haley against Biden.
That is what she will have to keep repeating to those who might listen.
Quinnipiac is seen as overly friendly to Democrats in recent cycles. Someone would have to check their rating.
jamesb says
Nice try…….
Haley ain’t gonna beat Trump we All agree unless something crazy happens…..
Haley against Trump would probably have MAGA voting for Biden…..
CG says
In this poll though, there is just crazy asymmetry galore when Kennedy, Stein, and West are included. (Nothing about Manchin or Hogan though)
People who will chose Biden over Trump go to the other alternatives on the left when that is offered. Perhaps that is not too surprising.
In the Haley vs Biden hypothetical, there are Trump voters who would go for Biden over Haley (though not nearly as many as Haley voters who would go for Biden over Trump), but significantly a large chunk of Trump voters say they would go for Kennedy (a white male if nothing else), bringing together a true coalition of left-wing and MAGA deadenders united under the flag of restoring Camelot.

Third party preference almost always drops precipitously as you get closer to the general election.
Gary Johnson was polling at 16% on early 2016. He wound up with 3.5%.
John Anderson was polling around 23% in Spring 1980. He got 6%
I don’t think RFK Jr, Cornel West or Jill Stein will come anywhere close to the numbers they are currently polling.
My Name Is Jack says
Yes I agree.
We have seen these type numbers before as you point out.
As to Haley’s numbers head to head with Biden?
That makes the laughable assumption that a defeated Trump would simply walk away into that good night.
Anyone who believes that is being delusional.
Trump would likely denounce the Republican Party, declare he was cheated ,.etc.We all know the drill. He would either run himself or back someone else in a third party bid and, unlike these others ?
Trump could easily siphon 20% or so,maybe more from Haley’s Republican vote thus assuring Bidens reelection.
jamesb says
Me neither…..

Regarding Haley vs. Biden hypothetical
Don’t forget Trump needs someone to pardon him.
CG says
plus according to some, he might be about to stroke out anyway leaving her as the backup QB
jamesb says
True THAT CG on the pardon….
Although?
I COULD see Biden doing it after some jail time for Trump….
CG says
We can’t forget about Ross Perot getting 19 percent in 1992 or 8 percent in 1996.
If there is a “centrist” candidate on the ballot (active at the end) in a Trump vs Biden race, that candidate will probably get into double digits.
CG says
new CNN RV poll
Trump 49
Biden 45
Haley 52
Biden 39
She consistently runs about 10 points better than Trump and for all the MAGA animosity against her, she is at 52 percent nationally among registered voters in this survey.
Clearly, the White House has to hope Trump stays on top for Republicans.
jamesb says
I stand by my gut…..
Haley would NOT be in the place to run against Biden and seperate from the poll….
I think a LOT of MAGA type’s would vote for Biden before Haley, and woman of colour….
CG says
I think very few people believe Haley is going to outright beat Trump for the nomination.
However, you are denying that the polls show she would beat Biden, which makes you nothing other than a cheerleader.
This is the one card she has to play- elcctability. I wish this poll would have shown Biden ahead of Trump. That is the one thing that would get some Republican primary voters to have second thoughts about Trump. Frankly, these numbers show that Biden is in bad shape politically, above all else, which is why Trump fans are totally convinced he is going to beat Biden in a landslide.. (at least those who do not think he will be replaced late in the game.)
With all that considered, the Biden campaign probably wants Nikki Haley to drop out of the race, so that they can be sure Trump is locked in as early as possible. After SC, Democrats are going to be joining MAGA in openly calling on her to drop out.
Should Biden denounce any MAGA voters for him in your scenario?
jamesb says
CG?
Let’s remember?
Biden & Co. Have spent ZERO TIME focused on Haley
They ain’t wasting their time….
The poll and point U make has NO relevance….
CG says
She would not win by 13 but it looks like she would win. Biden is that unpopular currently. No President running for reelection in modern times has been within even a few points of where Biden is now in terms of Job Approval numbers.
A better, more principled politician than Haley, would be doing even better against the incumbent in the polls. But she is not Biden and she is not Trump and thus she looks good to a lot of Americans “don’t compare me to the Almighty, compare me to the alternative”, just like how Biden benefited last time for first not being Bernie Sanders and then not being Trump.
Now, yes, it would take some sort of invasion of cult deprogramming aliens to get her to overtake Trump for the requisite number of delegates in the traditional way.
But you are fixated on the idea that if Biden wins it will only be because of Trump as the opponent. You and many in the party have put all their eggs in that basket. It may work, but if there is some sort of curveball this year regarding Trump, that does not bode well for Biden.
As thing stand right now, Biden is going to have an extremely tough time even beating Trump. Democrats should not be in this position. You folks should not have to be sweating this out.
CG says
Just speculating wildly, perhaps if it were to be Biden vs Haley, the incumbent can campaign alongside Trump and promise a twofer pardon for both him and Hunter in exchange for MAGA backing.
Something tells me that james would think it would be a swell idea because he thinks the ends always justify the means.
jamesb says
He, he, he
Yea ……
I WAS making fun
But?
The Donald probably WOULD BE THAT pissed…
CG says
This is all conjecture considering the current primary situation, but while his natural instinct would be to want to burn the entire Republican house down for rejecting him, especially to a “disloyal woman”, somebody would tell him that his options are Haley winning and keeping him out of prison, or Biden winning, and him probably not getting pardoned.
Trump is all about saving himself. Nothing else matters in the big picture. If faced with this, he would very quickly tell his people to vote for Haley.
jamesb says
I disagree for the reason you mention…..
haley defeating him I would thing would set him in a WORSE rage that he carried after Biden beat him….
CG says
Of course there is plenty of time for Biden to make a “comeback.” I don’t think Trump is going to get any more popular with swing voters as the year goes on.
However, an incumbent party or an incumbent President usually hope to benefit from a convention bounce (Trump did not get to have a traditional convention last time.)
My sense is that there is huge potential of Democrats having a very rough convention that is going to look like complete chaos on television and over the internet. For one thing, there are a myriad of problems in Chicago on a wide variety of fronts. The Governor seems to despise the new Mayor (for good reason) and there is all sorts of tension within the party and Democrat politicians saying the convention should be moved out of Chicago. I think it is too late for that to happen.
There are going to be a lot of protests though at this convention. Biden and the other big speakers better have a plan for what to do during his acceptance speech when they will be interrupted numerous times from within the hall by delegates or other people waving Palestinian flags, or chanting anti-Israel slogans, or screaming about “Genocide Joe.”
jamesb says
The convention certailly could feature the left and others unhappy….
But in the time it takes to get there?
Gonna be a BIG SHIT show from Trump and work to make the Left , Young Dem’s and Muslim’s that ole’ Donald will FUCK them if he gets second chance to……
CG says
Please find and post my most recent comments, which touch on the D convention, as they are once again not appearing.
