The House Republicans attempt to find a reason to impeach Joe Biden for the sins of his son ain’t working…..
Republicans ARE wasting their time and tax payer money….
Once again, an associate of Hunter Biden’s asserted explicitly and under penalty of perjury that the president was not involved in his son’s business.
If you are just tuning in, and who can blame you, the Republican effort to impeach the president generally centers on two issues. (They’ve attempted to build more than two allegations, mind you; these two are just the ones on which they seem to think they’ll have the best shot.) One is that Biden, as vice president, acted on behalf of his son’s employer to change policy in Ukraine — an allegation that’s been debunked multiple times. The other is that Joe Biden was intertwined with his son’s business partners more widely, benefiting from deals Hunter Biden made with individuals, including from China.
House Republicans have done a good job detailing the scope and timing of deals.
They have done a remarkably poor job tying them to the president….
…
Beyond loan repayments, there’s no evidence of Biden benefiting from Hunter Biden’s work. The case is cobbled together from circumstance, often using claims that are themselves wobbly or viewed as significant only when viewed through red-tinted lenses…..

Why do I think the FBI informant that the House Republicans THOUGHT they had the President and Hunter nailed is turning into a Russian feed disaster…
The FBI informant charged with telling lies about President Biden and his son Hunter was rearrested Thursday in Las Vegas, apparently out of concern he might flee — just days after a federal magistrate decided he could be released on bond.
Alexander Smirnov, whose arrest last week surprised Republican and Democratic lawmakers alike, was taken into custody again Thursday morning in his lawyer’s office. Prosecutors had argued that Smirnov’s claims of having significant relationships with Russian intelligence operatives, as well as millions of dollars at his disposal, meant that he was a flight risk….

CNN has more on the Biden’s GOP effort ….. —
The basic gist of the story is this: A shadowy ex-FBI informant with ties to Russia has been arrested and charged with giving false information to the FBI, but not before the alleged lies were used by Republicans to publicly accuse President Joe Biden of bribery.
When you look at the facts now, it seems ridiculous and incredible – a single, unverified FBI interview blows up into public allegations against the president of the United States and fuels plans for his impeachment.
But it has taken months of incremental developments to arrive at this point, and there are many unanswered questions in the developing saga of Alexander Smirnov, the accused peddler of misinformation. Smirnov has been charged with lying to the FBI and creating false records, but he has not yet entered a plea. His lawyers say he’s “presumed innocent” and will rigorously fight the charges….

Ok?
It just gets worse…..
Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) on Wednesday criticized his Republican colleagues for using a former FBI informant’s claims in their impeachment inquiry even though the statements hadn’t been verified.
“We were warned at the time that we received the document outlining this witness’s testimony. … We were warned that the credibility of this statement was not known,” Buck said on CNN’s “The Source.”
“And yet, people, my colleagues went out and talk to the public about how this was credible and how it was damning and how it proved President Biden’s — at the time Vice President Biden’s — complicity in receiving bribes,” he added….
