The judge’s decision is the latest outcome in litigation that began in 2015 following the Supreme Court’s ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges that same-sex couples have the same right to wed as heterosexual couples. The case took years to settle as Davis appealed many of the earlier decisions.
Davis’s attorneys had argued that the plaintiffs’ attorneys fees should be reduced by more than half, U.S. District Judge David L. Bunning’s ruling said.
