The case against Trump & Co. ain’t going away…..
The special prosecutor leading former President Trump’s 2020 election interference case in Georgia reached a temporary agreement in his divorce case Tuesday, avoiding testimony that likely would have asked him to describe an alleged romantic relationship with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D).
A court order signed by Cobb County Superior Court Judge Henry Thompson indicated that special prosecutor Nathan Wade “entered into a temporary agreement addressing all issues presently before the court.” Both parties decided that there was no need for Wednesday’s hearing as a result of the agreement, according to the order.
Wade’s divorce entered the spotlight earlier this month after one of the defendants in the Trump case, Michael Roman, accused Wade and Willis of being in an improper romantic relationship that he argued would make the indictment “fatally defective.”
Wade’s next hearing on the divorce case was slated for Wednesday, where lawyers for his wife said they would have questioned him over his finances and conduct. He would have likely faced questions on accusations that he purchased multiple flights for himself and Willis in the months leading up to the indictment of Trump, according to court documents filed by lawyers for Wade’s wife, Jocelyn…..
…
A seperate action ….Which seems to be a political effort….
The last-minute agreement, albeit “temporary” for now, allows Wade and Willis to avoid testimony that could have been embarrassing or given Trump and his co-defendants new evidence or ammunition to undermine the criminal case. Attorneys for the defendants had planned to closely follow Wednesday’s hearing as they prepare for a separate Feb. 15 hearing in Fulton County on whether the allegations warrant disqualification or dismissal….
…
Last week, Republicans in the Georgia Senate established an investigatory committee with subpoena power to probe whether Willis (D) was in a romantic relationship with Wade when she appointed him as a special prosecutor. And Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) filed a complaint with the State Ethics Commission seeking an investigation….
Also….
Officials said court and other systems in Georgia’s most populous county were hacked over the weekend, interrupting routine operations, but the district attorney’s office said the racketeering case against former President Donald Trump is unaffected.
Fulton County, which includes most of Atlanta, was experiencing a “widespread system outage” from a “cybersecurity incident,” county commission Chair Robb Pitts said Monday in a video posted on social media. Notably, he said, the outage is affecting the county’s phone, court and tax systems….

Update….
Willis admits she and Nathan Wade ARE a couple…
The admission IS headline stuff…
Not for me….
Willis has the right to pick whatever lawyer she wants to handle a high profile case…
That person will have staff and can consult with their boss, who is Willis….
All this should have NO effect on Willis still overseeing the case….
And CERTAINLY NOT getting Mike Roman off the hook….
My Name Is Jack says
Oh it’s a big deal alright.
And if you find nothing wrong with a DA appointing a “ special prosecutor,”paying him $650,000 and then carrying on a personal relationship with him, including vacations presumably paid for by him( with part of that $65,000.) ?Then, you are purposefully being blind to the reality.
There is now a good chance that Willis may have to hand the entire case off to another prosecutor who will then need months to get up to speed on the evidence and witnesses. All this may cause the case to be continued, possibly till after the election.
Does it necessarily mean Trump and his fellow defendants are “ off the hook?”Probably not. However,as I opined above it may delay the proceedings until next year and for Trump that would be a major victory.
Willis should be denounced for such an irresponsible action and her attempts to assign the criticism to racism is pure bunk. This is all on her.

We’ll see Jack….
The MAIN point is the case isn’t going away….
And Mike Roman isn’t gonna get much of a ‘deal’ one would think….
Willis will STILL be the DA…..
And might get married to Wade after the convictions, eh?
jamesb says
Denouced for following her heart ?
Bull Shit….
As pointed out?
There are OTHER lawyer couples in the case….

Maybe…..
But counterpoint’s that ARE VALID
This whole thing IS A effort to derail a RICO case that WILL obtain convictions fora lot of people……
This isn’t the first effort to destroy the case……
Lotta scared people
Willis WILL HAVE the final say even if she and Wade are off the trial…
My Name Is Jack says
Where to begin with this emotion driven foolishness…
James,a RICO prosecution is a federal matter. The Georgia case is a state prosecution.
Unlike you, who apparently, with no credentials whatsoever,is blabbering that Willis “ will have the final say?”I concede that that my knowledge of Georgia procedural law is limited. In SC, for instance, the State AG has control over all state prosecutions and may take over any prosecution from a local Solicitor ( in S.C. the DAs are referred to as Solicitor) .Apparently, that is not the case in Ga.However, I am sure that a judge could ,for good reasons shown ,order that a case at least be referred to another DA or a Special Peosecutor if it is found that a local DA has a conflict or committed misconduct.
So, your conclusory statement that Willis “ will have the final say” in this case is not true.
Further ,Willis herself may have some legal problems regarding that $650,000 paid to her paramour .This is public money.I have a good friend who served as an Assistant United States Attorney in Georgia and is well acquainted with many Atlanta attorneys.According to him, they were all surprised at the paramour appointment ,as he was not a prominent criminal lawyer .
When a former President of the United States is the object of a prosecution, one would think a responsible DA would seek the best legal talent possible.
I don’t give a damn who Willis is playing hanky panky with but she has by her conduct aroused controversy and made herself rather than Trump the center of attention now
No amount of cheerleading from the likes of you is going to change that.
