The Senator says out loud what a LOT of people KNOW….
Ukraine WILL have to cede some of its former territory to the Russians to end the conflict for now…..
It WILL be a hard pill to swallow….
But?
The way things are now and for the near future?
The situation begs for it….
America is growing weary of the situation which seems to offer no chance for Ukraine to make the break thru promised in the past Spring…
I thought here that the approaching American Primaries and I now add the Spring Putin election…..
Politics is working against Ukraine also …
And it’s not just in America….
Across Europe there are whispers of fatigue…..
Finally?
Ukraine families and even Russia families want the fighting over….
The payback for Ukraine will be HUGE Economically….
They WILL get into the EU….
They will get HUGE infusions of capital to rebuild….
They WILl rebuild their military…
And?
Ukraine will STILL be a Western facing country …
So?
Putin gets just a piece of the pie….
A small piece that actually has people that identified with Russia before the conflict….
Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) said Sunday that the United States needs to accept that Ukraine will likely need to “cede some territory” to Russia to end the fighting.
Vance told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union” that he is opposed to sending more aid to Ukraine because he does not believe the country will ever be able to overpower Russia. He questioned why sending billions in aid to Ukraine is going to help the country at this point in its war against Russia, considering previous aid has yet to end the war….
…
The Biden administration warned earlier this month that the U.S. will run out of money for Ukraine without congressional action by the end of the year.
Vance argued Sunday that no one believed Ukraine was going to win the war, explaining that the main focus should be bringing an end to the fighting and killing in the region.
“But on the Ukraine question in particular, everybody knows, everybody with a brain in their head, Jake, knows this was always going to end in negotiation,” Vance said. “The idea that Ukraine was going to throw Russia back to the 1991 border was preposterous; nobody actually believed it.”….

I still can’t believe this guy’s a Senator. That book he wrote was dreadful and the Ron Howard movie based on it was even worse.

Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) on Monday dug into Sen. JD Vance’s (R-Ohio) recent remarks against sending further aid to Ukraine, calling the Ohio Republican’s comments “total and unmitigated bull‑‑‑‑.”
Vance, in an interview with former White House aid Steve Bannon earlier Monday, claimed some lawmakers are looking to cut Social Security benefits for more aid to Ukraine that he argued will be used so one of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s ministers “can buy a bigger yacht.”
