Hamas says it will delay Saturday’s scheduled release of hostages because of what it characterized as Israel’s noncompliance with the exchange agreement. More Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners were to be released on the second day of a four-day pause in fighting. Israel received a list of the captives to be released by Hamas on Saturday, the Israeli prime minister’s office said, and the Israel Prison Service said it had prepared 42 Palestinian prisoners for release. Amid the pause, the Palestine Red Crescent Society announced that it had dispatched its largest aid convoy to Gaza’s north since the war began but that the supplies heading there still were insufficient to meet the “enormous” humanitarian needs in the heavily battered region.
