President Biden spoke again Monday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, reiterating U.S. support for Israel and his administration’s call for “humanitarian pauses” in the fighting to increase the flow of humanitarian aid and facilitate the release of hostages being held by Hamas inside Gaza, National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby told reporters.
The total number of U.N. employees killed by Israeli strikes in Gaza has reached 89, “many of them together with members of their families,” U.N. Secretary General António Guterres told reporters Monday.
At least 10,022 people in Gaza have been killed and 25,000 have been wounded, the Gaza Health Ministry said in a news conference Monday. At least 1,400 people were killed in Israel in the Oct. 7 Hamas attack, and at least 5,400 people have been injured, according to Israeli officials….

US Troops come under attack in Iraq and Syria….
The Pentagon initially claimed that 21 service members suffered traumatic brain injuries as a result of two drone attacks by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia, but an additional 24 troops have since reported such injuries, NBC reported Monday, bringing the total number of injured troops to 45. That number may rise as more troops come forward.
NBC News has tallied at least 38 separate attacks on bases housing U.S. troops in Syria and Iraq since October 17, mainly by one-way drones, mortars or rockets….
