AMMAN, Jordan — The United States reiterated support for “humanitarian pauses” to allow expanded aid into Gaza, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Saturday, and the Israeli government had agreed to discuss how a pause might take place. Blinken publicly rejected the idea of a cease-fire, which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has refused unless it includes the return of hostages by Hamas. Blinken spoke to reporters with Jordan and Egypt’s foreign ministers after meeting with Middle Eastern leaders in Amman following a day in Tel Aviv.
