He’s a Indépendant ….
And he WILL be a danger to Donald Trump if he eneds up beiung the Republican nominee for President….
Kennedy ‘s politics more closely hug’s the Republicans world views….
“I must declare my own independence. Independence from the Democratic Party,” he said to loud cheers. “And from all other political parties.”
A lawyer and proud vaccine skeptic, Kennedy has formally rivaled President Biden from within the party since the spring, but he has not made a dent against the White House incumbent.
With just more than a year until Election Day, running as an independent positions him to challenge Biden and former President Trump, the current front-runner for the 2024 Republican nomination, while leaning on his anti-establishment platform and bypassing both parties’ primary rules.
The 69-year-old candidate has run what’s looked like an outsider campaign for months, freely introducing conspiracy theories that mainstream Democrats and some traditional Republicans disavow, especially around vaccines, aspects of American political history, and the neutrality of the current presidential primary process….

Post on RFK Jr. is HERE….
CG says
I do not think he is a well person. He seems to have some sort of obsession with the concept of an assassination attempt, which might be somewhat understandable but also unfortunate.
His wife Cheryl Hines seems to be all in. She might have done irreversible damage to her acting career.
Poor Ethel.
CG says
One can look at the issues or news sections on his website and I doubt it can really be said that “hugs Republican worldviews.” On most issues, he is a far left-liberal (i.e. fully supporting UAW demands just as one example.)
Now, Trump does not has not represented traditional Republican worldviews either, and somehow that did not prevent him from taking over the Republican Party, but RFK Jr. is at a completely other level. He is not going to be talking about “building the wall” or deporting people for instance.
The anti-vas and anti-Ukraine stances are pretty much all he shares with the MAGA base. While part of Trump’s base consists of former Democrats who worship the name “Kennedy” and the concept of Camelot (see all the people who think JFK Jr is somehow still alive and backing Trump), I do not know how many people would actually switch from Trump to Kennedy.
jamesb says
Well i did a post here about how Trump & Co ARE thinking about going after RFKJr. Because he IS perceived as hugging the Right…..
CG says
Democrats should probably worry more about Cornel West though.
jamesb says
West is a NOTHING BURGER…..
Can’t pay his bills and comes off more scattered than Sanders…..
Right now?
Biden and Trump
PERIOD
My Name Is Jack says
I question how many states West will get on the ballot in.If he isn’t running under a third party banner ,he is going to have to start from scratch. That means creating an organization and raising lots of money.
I also question how many people even know who he is.Being an academic and a self styled public intellectual is not a position that a lot of people pay attention to.
jamesb says
I agree Jack……
On West?
He’s just a media effort to write horse race stories…..
CG says
Kennedy’s campaign manager is Dennis Kucinich, who can’t really be accused of “hugging Republican worldviews.”
jamesb says
Kuncinch isn’t the candidate
Trump’s don’t listen to him lawyers
About the same?
My Name Is Jack says
RFKjr is also going have to create his own organization.
Unlike West ,he is well known because of his name and may be able to raise significant funds but if he is depending on a rather clownish figure like Dennis the Menace to create an organization capable of complying with often complex and confusing ballot qualification laws? His candidacy might be of less significance than it now appears.
jamesb says
It has been pointed out…..
Younger voters will NOT. Know the significance of the ‘Kennedy’s’
Democratic Socialist Dave says
Dennis Kucinich is eccentric, but it’s not the complexity of setting up campaign finance and FEC compliance that will make him a questionable campaign manager (unless the title is “titular”). Kucinich holds a graduate degree in international relations and was mayor of Ohio’s third-largest city. I think it’s other things where he won’t be very successful, like managing and expanding beyond the weird and discordant collection of supporters that RFKJ now has. Relying on the fact that most American voters don’t want to see Biden vs Trump again won’t be enough.
Ghost of SE says
Kucinich, like his ideological successor Tulsi Gabbard, is a perfect example of the horseshoe theory of politics.
jamesb says
‘We ALL Change partners?’…..
Scott P says
I stand by my prediction that RFK Jr will not be a candidate this time next year.
jamesb says
So noted……
Ghost of SE says
He DOES have the ego to stick it out. A true wild card who owes nothing to either major candidate. Will be awesome to see him siphoning more from Trump.
If anything, Cornel West is the one I see dropping out. A good faith actor who ultimately sees his potentially cataclysmic impact on the election.
jamesb says
West was NEVER REALLY In…..
Scott P says
Larry Hogan says he won’t rule out a Presidential bid. I guess he’s feeling left out with the RFK Jr indy discussion.
jamesb says
No chance…….
But could gain some media attention
