Kevin McCarthy Ousted as Speaker
Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) became the first speaker in U.S. history ousted from his position by a motion to vacate, 216 to 210.
Eight Republicans joined all Democrats in voting to remove McCarthy.
Kevin McCarthy has now been removed as Speaker of the House. The office of Speaker of the House of the House of Representatives is hereby declared vacant for the first time in history.

Tim Burchett (R-TN) spoke on tv this morning that he was praying about the decision he had to make today.
McCarthy called him today and according to Burchett “mocked” him for praying and that sealed the deal for him that McCarthy should not be Speaker.
I wonder if Burchett would hold Donald Trump and the Presidency to the same standard.
CNN says sources close to McCarthy say he is prepared to “step back.”
If that happens, someone like Emmer, Scalise, or Tom Cole will be elected Speaker in pretty short order.
McCarthy is giving a press conference now when he should waited a day or so. He’s too emotional from the wound obviously. It’s sort like Nixon’s bitter 1962 Gubernatorial concession.
He has compared himself to Lou Gehrig when he got diagnosed with a disease and says it is Nancy Pelosi’s fault the Republicans ousted him.
McCarthy wants credit for not ousting Pelosi with a move like Gaetz did. Well, he would not have had the votes had he tried, so that’s why he didn’t do it.

He was in an impossible position because the Republican Party is controlled by chaos. As of now, Donald Trump owns the Republican Party. Jeb Bush said early on in that primary campaign that Trump was a chaos candidate and would be a chaos President, and he is also a chaos ex-President. McCarthy chose to embrace the chaos to ride whatever short-term power he could gain for himself and the result was inevitable,
Everything he did for Trump and Trump did not lift one finger to try to save him from this vote. In the rambling press conference McCarthy just gave, the only questions he scuttled past were about Trump and his body language made it quite clear how uncomfortable he was to discuss Trump.
He should have known BETTER…..
If MCarthy followed Politicaldog101 he would have read how it was pointed out over and OVER that Donald J. Trump Is ONE WAY…..

DSD you and the Bible couldn’t have said it any better…gave his soul to try to appease the unappeasable and look what it did…threw the whole country (government wise) into utter chaos…Democrats wanted no part in saving him because he showed his ass by in the end trying to appease the right wing by going back on his budget deal with the president and allowing the impeachment inquiry based on a thin case at best…nothing that will ever get him expelled from office..
