It is pointed out that in a secret ballot yesterday 55 GOPer House members voted AGAINST Jordan….

“Following a disastrous first vote on the House floor, Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) has delayed a second vote on his candidacy for speaker until 11 a.m. Wednesday,” Punchbowl News reports.
“Jordan had a rough, rough day. After 20 Republicans voted against him, Jordan has had difficulty shrinking his opposition, sources involved in the whip operation told us.”
“In fact, some Jordan opponents aren’t even agreeing to meet with the Ohio Republican. That’s not a good sign. Most of the Jordan opposition met privately after the vote. And almost everyone is going to continue to vote against Jordan.”

Jordan most likely won’t have enough votes to be elected speaker on second ballot. Gimenez, Diaz-Balart, Rutherford won’t vote for JJ again. Others signaling the same, though some NO votes – like John James and Doug LaMalfa – open to back JJ.

Cong,Ken Buck voted for Cong. Tom Emmer for Speaker.
When asked,”Do you really want Tom Emmer to be Speaker?”
Buck answered,” No I don’t like Tom Emmer .”
He said that was a joke that did not land correctly.
Buck is proving himself to be one of the only honest, principled people left in the Conference.
I give Buck marginal credit for reconsidering his original objections to certifying the 2020 election results and his support of banning congressional stock trades. All his other views are utterly appalling.
Yes, this was a joke.
But Buck is on his way out, and like so many spin less Republicans, as such, he found his courage and principles as he heads to a job at CNN.

It was probably the first vote I watched in years…live from my phone…it was over halfway through the vote…just like watching a giants game (cause you already knew they lost before the game started)…
I don’t really see a Jordan way out…Probably might have to make a McHenry acting speaker so the house can function…It is really comical as Scott said…you couldn’t write better soap opera drama than “As the World Turns”
