Not surprising really.
Romney was totally out of step with the Right Wing MAGA extremists that now dominate the Republican Party.
What the Republican Party has become,it’s hard to believe that a little over ten years ago,Romney was this party’s presidential candidate.
Indeed Romney would be physically threatened if he showed up at most State Republican conventions today.
So Mitt is retiring, a confirmation of a preexisting condition if you ask me.
This mother fucker helped to build the Republican Party that we see today. He went along with the Nixon strategy until the racist base of the GOP wanted more red meat (enter Donald Trump).
Sure Mitt voted to impeach Donald. Folks like Mitt could have stopped Trump before he got started. Their lack of action gave us the Republican dumpster fire we see today. He couldn’t get through his statement without a shot at Biden. Really?
This phony who ran for office from two states and has now quit while his party is being taken over by Neo-Nazis (because he couldn’t get re-elected) is no fucking profile in courage.
Romney also said that that the so called” No Labels” third party movement would only serve to elect Trump and that he had warned Joe Manchin not to run.
Although not said, it appears that Romney would rather see Biden re-elected.
Time for him to say it!
The man’s absolute high point was voting to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court and helping shepherd Infrastructure through the Senate, all within the last two years. All else from him was eons more sizzle than steak.
Not a surprise, anyone who has seen him walk knows he has a hard time getting around. That Trumpite who just nabbed the Primary win in a Congressional seat in Utah likely vaults to the front of the pack to replace him.
Watched the video, Romney claimed neither Biden nor Trump have put forward solutions to climate change.
Half true, at best, but while I appreciate Romney being one of the few Republicans to call climate change what it is, the fact is President Biden has tried to do more than any other President to fight this grave issue. On many counts, he’s even been successful in his endeavors(when he can get Joe Munchkin and Mitt’s pal Sinema aboard). Both sides-ism is tiresome, especially when the facts contradict the narrative.
Wow, I can’t really remember a time when all the comments all seem to be on the same page regarding anything…Good Bye to Romney and Hello to some Crazy MAGA from Utah…Probably a Mormon in Sheep’s Clothing…
With Romney gone and Trump atop the ticket, Democrats ought to seriously target Utah(Hello Jim Matheson???). Biden had the strongest showing there of any Democrat since Hubert Humphery in 1968, and Trump is astonishingly weak with Mormon voters. If nothing else, the Salt Lake City area Congressional district(now represented by a full blown Q tip) could be brought into play and flipped almost as easy as Mitt himself flip flops.
