An Atlanta-area prosecutor is seeking a March trial date in the criminal racketeering case against former president Donald Trumpand 18 others.
In a court motion filed Wednesday in Fulton County Superior Court, Fulton County District Attorney Fani T. Willis (D) sought a March 4 trial date. She also proposed individual arraignment hearings for each of the defendants sometime during the week of Sept. 5, as well as a schedule that she said would not conflict with Trump’s other pending criminal cases….

The timing will ultimately be up to Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee, who was appointed to oversee the case.
Drew Findling, Trump’s lead counsel in the Georgia case, did not respond to a request for comment.
Willis’s proposed trial date potentially conflicts with the scheduled March 25 trial date in New York where Trump is facing charges related to alleged falsification of business records in connection with hush money payments to adult-film actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign. A courts spokesperson said he could not comment on whether New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, who is overseeing that matter, has discussed changing the start date.
A spokesperson for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg declined to comment on whether Bragg is concerned that a start date in early March would overlap with his case, or whether he has been in talks with Willis’s office about rearranging the trial timeline.
