Republicans were trying to bleed water from a stone…..
Two hours of testimony from a former associate of Hunter Biden’s failed to turn up dirt on President Joe Biden, according to Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.).
Republicans had hoped an interview with Devon Archer, who partnered in business with the president’s son, would help them connect Hunter Biden’s wheelings and dealings to acts of corruption by the president.
But hours of questioning in a Capitol office building yielded no smoking guns, Goldman told reporters.
“I think it is safe to say that after yet another two hours, there still is no connection of any of Hunter Biden’s business dealings with President Biden,” Goldman said.
The president has repeatedly denied ever discussing business with his son, who for years sat on the board of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma after Archer recommended him for the position to the company’s founder.
While Archer apparently maintained that he never witnessed the elder Biden talking shop with his son, Goldman said, Archer did describe several instances of the two Bidens talking on speakerphone in the presence of their other business partners…..
There was NOTHING on Joe Biden from the session ….
But Republicans just keep going on and ON hopping to divert attaention from Trump….
All this has NOT attachment to Donald Trump’s legal problems that ARE growing and GREOWING regardless…..
Ian Sams, White House spokesperson for oversight and investigations, also argued that the Archer interview poked holes in the GOP attempts to directly link President Biden to his family’s foreign business dealings.
“It appears that the House Republicans’ own much-hyped witness today testified that he never heard of President Biden discussing business with his son or his son’s associates, or doing anything wrong,” Sams said. “House Republicans keep promising bombshell evidence to support their ridiculous attacks against the President, but time after time, they keep failing to produce any. In fact, even their own witnesses appear to be debunking their allegations.”
Raskin said that the Biden family investigation is a “desperate effort to distract everyone from former President Donald Trump’s mounting criminal indictments and deepening legal morass.”
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), who was also in the interview, told reporters that Archer had revealed new information, but declined to elaborate further.
Abbe Lowell, counsel for Hunter Biden, said in a statement that House Republicans “keep swinging and keep striking out in their obsessive pursuit of the President through his son, Hunter.” ….

The Republicans ARE trying to keep the Hunter Biden thing going….
I doubt they will succeed …
House GOP Launches Inquiry Into Hunter Biden Plea Deal
“House Republicans have launched an inquiry into the Justice Department’s plea deal with Hunter Biden, which was put on hold after falling apart in court last week,” ABC News reports.
“Three Republican-led House committees — the Judiciary, Oversight and Ways and Means panels — sent a letter on Monday to Attorney General Merrick Garland demanding information and documents related to the agreement struck by federal prosecutors and President Joe Biden’s son.”
