The outcome of unusual off-cycle redistricting efforts in at least five states — Alabama, Louisiana, New York, North Carolina and Ohio — will play an outsized role in determining which party holds the House majority next year.
Why it matters: Typically, the battle for House control takes place on the campaign trail. In 2024, decisions in state courtrooms will also help determine which party wins control of the lower chamber.

South Carolina is one of the reddest states in the country.Both of our Senators, eight out of nine Congresspersons,all statewide elected officials and overwhelming majorities in both houses of the state legislature are Republicans.
Yet a group of Right wing Republican kooks labelling themselves as SC Safe Elections is now harrasing local voter registration boards and election commissions( almost all of which are manned by Republican appointees ) with frivolous FOIA requests and silly complaints that have nothing to do with anything.
It’s almost illogical.
I mean what are these goofballs saying ?That all these elected Republicans are “illegitimate?”
