Donald Trump said on Truth Social that he received a target letter from Special Counsel Jack Smith for his investigation into the events leading to the January 6 insurrection.
Said Trump: “Deranged Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden’s DOJ, sent a letter (again, it was Sunday night!) stating that I am a TARGET of the January 6th Grand Jury investigation, and giving me a very short 4 days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an Arrest and Indictment.”
ABC News: “The letter, which sources said was transmitted to Trump’s attorneys in recent days, indicates that yet another indictment of the former president could be imminent — though it is not immediately clear what kind of charges he could ultimately face.”
New York Times: “It is not clear what specific aspect of Mr. Smith’s investigation into the efforts to obstruct the transfer of power that Mr. Trump may be indicted in.”

It would appear that the DOJ ‘memo’ on no going after people during political activity has been thrown in the garbage….
Trump could involved in criminal and civil court appearance from NOW thru ALL of next year…..
But, but, we were told January 6th was in the rear view mirror, remember? Not only were we told this, but our host doubled down on his dismissal of the Republican attempt to overthrow our government on January 6th.

Anyone who claims that domestic terrorism of Jan. 6 was in the “rear view mirror “ or such similar word salad shows such a lack of realism as to make anything else they have to say on the subject deserving the ridicule it is receiving presently.

The fact you were incapable of seeing how dangerous Jan 6th was then, especially when the majority of the Republicans wanted to overthrow a legitimately elected government, speaks volumes about your ignorance of how government works. And I’m trying to be polite.

If they really wanted it to recede into the rear-view mirror, our Republican friends, like Reps Jordan and Comer, would not be spending this enormous amount of time trying to persecute and remove Merrick Garland, Chris Wray, Jack Smith, et al., et al.
But Mr Trump finds it far more profitable for his ego, his wallet and his popularity with the Base to play the tragic Victim or the Greatest Witch Hunt in American History.

Indeed the events of Jan 6 remain a continuing issue which is mentioned in most stories about Trump in the media.Even today in the local paper there was a story about a local man just being charged for his actions on that infamous day.
