Genius RNC chair Rona McDonald wants her party members to jump up and affirm anti-Abortion/Pro-life Policy?
RNC chair Ronna McDaniel said GOP candidates will have to address abortion “head on” in 2024, USA Today reports.
Said McDaniel: “Many of our candidates across the board refused to talk about it, thinking ‘Oh we can just talk about the economy and ignore this big issue.’ And they can’t.”
She added: “They’re uncomfortable but they can’t be. You need to say, listen, I’m proud to be pro-life.”
One would think that ignoring the issue and ceding the debate would be “stupider.”
Politicians should have the responsibility of standing on their own principle and defending their ideas.
Ok?
Those in ‘safe’ GOPer districts can embrace pro-life……
Bit those in iffy and Democratic districts need to either STFU or actually go for moderate position on the issue
Even Trump came out with the observation that abortion was hurting the party…
This IS a no-brainer….

The concept of taking what might be an unpopular political position is a very different one than taking a political position and being unwilling to defend it or letting the opposition define it and simply hoping it goes away. This could be said about any number of political issues. It has been said in the past that Democrats voted for gun control but were unwilling to defend it to the voters.
In this case, what Ronna McDaniel said is absolutely correct.
The issue is a non-starter for the party natioally and and in none Red places PERIOD….
She’s saying this because her party memebers are NOT doing what she says….
