The key in this is ‘consider’.…
From where I”m looking?
This is just a flirt at a tougher ban in reaction to some anti-abortion grumbling against his voicing his view that ‘Abortion’ policy pushes by some Republicans is hurting the party….
After the above comments Trump quickly moved to ‘his’ choice of judges….
Donald Trump did NOT say he support’s a national ban which is VERY Unpopular among American’s of ALL parties….
Former President Trump indicated he would consider signing into law legislation banning abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy if he is elected president again in 2024.
Why it matters: The new comments came as a departure from his campaign’s previous support for individual states deciding restrictions — as abortion again looms over the upcoming major election cycle.
- Trump‘s campaign was previously sharply rebuked by the The Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, a major anti-abortion group that has been advocating for a federal ban, for calling abortion a states’ issue.
What they’re saying: Trump told ABC affiliate WMUR in New Hampshire, where he held a rally Thursday, that if elected again, he would “look at” a 15-week abortion ban proposed by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) if it passed Congress.
- He added that his campaign is “looking at a lot of different options.”
- “We’ll get something done where everyone is going to be very satisfied,” he said.
- “I think we’ll get it done on some level, it could be on different levels, but we’re gonna get it done. I know the issue very well. I think I know the issue better than most and we will get that taken care of.”

This is what Republicans want. Trump is their undisputed leader. Of course he wants it too.

What happened to returning the issue of abortion to the states?
That has been the Republican position for years, that each state should decide on the abortion issue as to how restrictive or not the procedure should be.
Now that such is the reality?Well some of the states ,even red ones (see Nebraska and SC ) ,aren’t becoming as restrictive as the Republican extremists would like and so all that states rights baloney is being rapidly discarded .
As Scott notes, now the Big Government Republicans want a national law .
Remember this the next time the so called “limited government “ Republicans start that tripe.
Yeah they’re all for “limited government “until they’re not!

The Nation Ban thing is just noise for supporters……
Even their own GOPer women would be against it as we saw this week….

Here in Missouri GOP legislators are feverishly attempting to change the threshold for passage of statewide voter referendum from a simple majority to 60%. It’s clear why they want to do that. They know that an abortion rights referendum in MO would easily win a majority of state voters.
Missouri legalized Marijuana and expanded medicaid by voter referendum, despite opposition from conservative state legislators. The “fix” to that? Kneecap the will of the voters!
