Indictment ain’t a conviction…..
And folks?
We’re talking about the first of maybe THREE others in places the ex-President could face Criminal Charges….
THAT would be a whole new ball game….
And off course?
How about a ex-President runnin g for hius old job as a convicted felon?
Anybody out there think this guy is gonna beat ALL of this?
Anybody think over a 100 Million. Americans are gonna vote a loser that has the middle name ‘choas’ back into his old job spending his time in State and Federal criminal courts up and down the East Coast?
The same poll has 60% of OVERALL voters AGAINST Trump running for President….
I will say this though….
A lot of the Republican’s in that 68% would vote for the guy even if he was in jail….
Wouldn’t matter….
Just over two-thirds of GOP voters in a new poll say they stand behind former President Trump in the aftermath of an indictment in New York City earlier this month and amid other investigations he is facing.
The NBC News poll released Sunday found that 68 percent of Republican voters said the investigations are “a politically motivated attempt to stop Trump,” and that “no other candidate is like him, we must support him.”…
…
Almost half of Republican voters, 46 percent, said they would support Trump If the GOP primary was held today, with 31 percent supporting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Only 6 percent said they would support former Vice President Mike Pence. Former U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley, Sen. Tim Scott (S.C.) and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson each hold only 3 percent support….
…
Among voters in general, 60 percent say Trump should not run for president while 35 percent say he should. Of those who said Trump should not run, 30 percent cite the business fraud charges Trump is facing in New York as a major reason for their choices, while 35 percent say it is a minor reason. Thirty-four percent said it is not a reason at all….

Count me as one who doesn’t think Biden ought to run again.I don’t think anyone 80 yoa should be serving as President.
Besides Biden himself as a candidate said he understood his role was to be a conduit to a younger generation.
My favorites if he weren’t to run:Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, Sen, Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota,Gov, Roy Cooper of North Carolina, Gov. Jared Polis of Colorado, and Gov. Gavin Newsome of California.
More or less in the above order.

Andy Beshear of KY would be the best one, IMO, provided he is reelected this year.
Scott P says
That’s fair Jack. I understand rhe sentiment and unlike the cultist GOP the majority of Democrats are wary of nominating someone more than 3/4 of a century old for the top job.
At this point I don’t see Biden having issues with age slowing him down. The minute I do I would advocate for him stepping aside for someone like Grtchen Whitmer.
CG says
As Democrats, what are the objections to the Vice President for that role? One would have to think then that considering the current President’s age, he should be running instead with Whitmer or one of the other names mentioned.
Nobody of any seriousness within that party is going to be running against Biden despite the fact that 70 percent of America does not want him to run.. If somehow the field were to come open, the ability of JB Pritzker to immediately spend a billion dollars out of his own pocket would be hard to overlook.
In any event, Biden is announcing a reelection campaign tomorrow via videotape. Probably a Betamax tape.
Ghost of SE says
What a bad joke. I love it!
Scott P says
If Biden were to drop out of course Harris would be a top contender for the Presidential nomination. But I think Whitner would be a stringer general election candidate.
So CG. Do you support for the GOP nomination?
Scott P says
Stronger
jamesb says
Harris could end up finishing Biden’s term….
But running on het own would be problematic…
I think she does NOT play well…..
Just for me and some people i have talked to
jamesb says
I thought Newsom was getting ready to run.,,.
But Biden IS the nominee right now unless something crazy happens…
jamesb says
Kennedy Jr. is NOT a factor….
Neither are the traditional lefties mentioned by the media
CG says
As of right now, the best option is Asa Hutchinson.
Scott P says
Hutchinson has a great chance…of getting 1% in Iowa if he makes it that far.
Connor Roy might poll higher than Asa.
Ghost of SE says
Hutchinson seems like a good, genuine guy. Sadly, the “Anti Woke CEO” will likely get triple Asa’s support.
Scott P says
My girlfriend is from Arkansas and met Hutchinson at the University of AR when she was a student and he was a Congressman. She said he was kind o an asshole to the students.
Ghost of SE says
Plays better on TV than in real life. Sadly a common theme amongst “Classic Republicans”/decorum humpers.
jamesb says
Strike ASA , eh?
Democratic Socialist Dave says
Asa Hutchinson (remember his smarter brother Senator Tim ?) appeared a lot on Sunday talk shows during the Pandemic lockdown.
He just seemed kind of evasive in his answers, personable but trying (badly) to finesse the issues (such as lockdowns and vaccinations).
