Bout time…..
And?
The guy is gonna get RICHER without BIG guys trying to run his ass down….
He has a Fox Sports talking head deal for $375 Million…..
Tom Brady is hanging up his cleats — for good.
In an emotional message posted Wednesday on Instagram, the 45-year-old quarterback confirmed that he is ending his prolific NFL career after 23 seasons, the final three of which were spent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This comes one year after he was rushed into retirement by news leaks and then changed his mind 40 days later.
“Hey guys I’ll get to the point right away. I’m retiring. For good,” Brady said in a 53-second social-media selfie video filmed on a beach. “I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning I figured I’d just press record and let you guys know first.”
Brady, 45, was about to be a free agent for the second time in his career. Established as the Greatest of All-Time after 20 seasons with the Patriots, Brady signed with the Buccaneers from a limited field of suitors in 2020 and immediately made everyone else pay by winning his seventh Super Bowl…..
…
Brady retires as the NFL’s all-time leader in completions, passing yards, touchdowns and victories by a quarterback. He has more Super Bowl wins than all 32 franchises, which was about the unlikeliest scenario when he was drafted with a sixth-round pick in 2000 to be a rookie third-stringer.

I remember when he was a late choice to fill in for Drew Bledsoe (who’d got the Pats much of the way to the 2002 Super Bowl), chosen by Bill Belichick, who was himself starting his first year as head coach after being assistant to Bill Parcells (who’d gone to the Jets).
Parcells ridiculed his players in public; Belichick’s press conferences are notoriously laconic.

The local question after Brady left the Patriots was who needed whom more: Brady or Belichick? Could either succeed so well without the other?
Which, of course, TB12 answered with a Super Bowl ring in his first year at Tampa Bay.
