There are some who believe that China IS inching up for a confrontation with America over Taiwan….
America seems to be moving back to WWII in possibly facing TWO separate military conflicts at the SAME time in the world…
This while the Ukraine drains America of it war fighting materials….
And this President Biden’s watch, a guy who does NOT like military confrontations , but has been dragged into one and is being possibly dragged into another….Both thousand’s of miles from North America…..

But China HAS been getting more and MORE militarily aggressive against Taiwan and Japan…..
A four-star Air Force general sent a memo on Friday to the officers he commands that predicts the U.S. will be at war with China in two years and tells them to get ready to prep by firing “a clip” at a target, and “aim for the head.”
In the memo sent Friday and obtained by NBC News, Gen. Mike Minihan, head of Air Mobility Command, said, “I hope I am wrong. My gut tells me will fight in 2025.”
Air Mobility Command has nearly 50,000 service members and nearly 500 planes and is responsible for transport and refueling.
Minihan said in the memo that because both Taiwan and the U.S. will have presidential elections in 2024, the U.S. will be “distracted,” and Chinese President Xi Jinping will have an opportunity to move on Taiwan.
He lays out his goals for preparing, including building “a fortified, ready, integrated, and agile Joint Force Maneuver Team ready to fight and win inside the first island chain.”
The signed memo is addressed to all air wing commanders in Air Mobility Command and other Air Force operational commanders, and orders them to report all major efforts to prepare for the China fight to Minihan by Feb. 28.
During the month of February, he directs all AMC personnel to “fire a clip into a 7-meter target with the full understanding that unrepentant lethality matters most. Aim for the head.” He also orders all personnel to update their records and emergency contacts.
In March he directs all AMC personnel to “consider their personal affairs and whether a visit should be scheduled with their servicing base legal office to ensure they are legally ready and prepared.”….
Gee it’s good to know what’s in his “gut.”

A ‘war’ over Taiwan would cut the heart out of their economy and hurt ours….
Some American companies are already moving their manufacturing to other Asian countries like Vietnam….
China’s economy is already slumping….
Last thing they need is the rug pulled out of the rest of it….
I doubt if 75-80% of Americans know much, if anything about Taiwan.
For instance ,are they aware that according to official US policy ,Taiwan is not recognized as an independent nation.
That indeed the US has for fifty years or so recognized that Taiwan is a part of China.
Have they ever heard of Chiang kai shek?
Do they know anything about the Chinese Civil War?
I know there’s a lot of babble going on ,but any American President that tried to engage in a war with a fellow nuclear armed power over a place that most Americans cant locate on a map and know little about would in my view face a career ending backlash.
And we certainly don’t need the idle speculation of some military jerk babbling about what’s in his gut.
I agree with you that a war there is unlikely In the near future for a host of reasons.
Having said that, it is ,however ,likely that within the next twenty or so years ,Taiwan will become part of China in some manner.
