Walker was Donald Trump’s choice…
He’s totally out of his league….
The unfolding situation with a ex-lover is just making things worst….
Seem’s voters in Georgia could be moving away from him….
BTW?
For months ….Walker NEVER led in the polls
In today’s highly polarized political climate, it takes a lot for a scandal to make a big difference in a high-stakes election. |
But if the latest polls are any indication, the recent allegations against Herschel Walker, the Republican Senate candidate in Georgia, might be big enough not only to decide his race but also control of the Senate. |
Compared with previous polling, the latest surveys show him slipping by an average of about 2.5 percentage points since an ex-girlfriend said he paid herfor an abortion she had in 2009. Mr. Walker has made opposition to abortion a cornerstone of his campaign and has denied the woman’s account. |
A shift of 2.5 points is not huge. Maybe as few as one in 25 of Mr. Walker’s former supporters have drifted into the undecided column or flipped to Senator Raphael Warnock; Georgia is a closely divided state. And it’s possible this will represent Mr. Walker’s low-water mark. With the news about him still fresh, there may be some Republicans reluctant to say they support him now, but who may ultimately come back to his side if or when the heat of the issue fades. |
But as recently as a few weeks ago, Georgia’s race was arguably the closest Senate contest in the country. Now, every new poll shows Mr. Warnock in the lead (on average by more than three percentage points) |
