They went political….
Donald Trump has NEVER been a fan of the FBI’s actions…
He’s fired their bosses….
And….
Knocked the agency when it did NOT his bidding….
This time though?
He can’t fire anyone…..
He and his Secret Service people had to stand by while the FBI went about their busy with the ok from a Federal judge….
Just like anyone else that the Fed’s would be investigatinbg for braking Federal law….
Some Republicans are already doing their best to get on the ex-President’s good side and please his supporters…
But…
One HAS to think that some Republicans are probably smiling also…
And?
Nobody is gonna ‘defund’ the FBI……
You ARE going to hear over and OVER that NEVER has a former President had the Fed’s going after him criminally….
Yup….
But against THAT….
Never has a former President tried to engineer a outright government takeover in broad daylight by violence…
We don’t know who actually packed the classified doucuments that went to Trump’s home against Federal Law….
But one assumes we WILL find out….
I guess Trump didn’t flush those down the toilet like other stuff he has reportedly done….
This one of the two Justice Dept. cases that are being presented to Federal Grand Juries….
Trump is also being mentioed in cases in Georgia , New York State and Manhattan, NYC….
The ‘political’ defense ain’t gonna hold for all of these cases I’d guess….

Many Republicans also echoed sentiments from Trump’s Monday statement in which he said his home had been raided by the FBI and that agents had opened a safe belonging to him….

Florida lawmakers also weighed in, mostly notably Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is increasingly seen as a potential GOP presidential candidate who could challenge Trump in 2024 should the former president opt for another run.
“The raid of MAL is another escalation in the weaponization of federal agencies against the Regime’s political opponents, while people like Hunter Biden get treated with kid gloves,” wroteDeSantis. “Now the Regime is getting another 87k IRS agents to wield against its adversaries? Banana Republic.”
In his statement, Trump said that “such an assault could only take place in broken, Third-World countries,” which several Republicans echoed.
“Using government power to persecute political opponents is something we have seen many times from 3rd world Marxist dictatorships,” wrote Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.). “But never before in America.”…

The New York Times reported that the search appeared to be focused on records that Trump brought with him to the Mar-a-Lago estate after leaving the White House, including ones that were classified. The Department of Justice (DOJ) is also investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol and actions Trump took after the 2020 election…

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) issued a series of tweets condemning the raid, with one including an image of an upside-down American flag, otherwise known as a distress signal.
She and other Republicans such as Rep. Lauren Boebert (Colo.), both staunch Trump allies, began advocating for defunding the FBI, echoing calls to “defund the police” from progressive Democrats in 2020 in response to several Black people being killed in police custody. At the time, it was a message that Republicans wholly rejected.

Trump Takes Stock of Which Republicans Defend Him
“Donald Trump’s team and allies are moving swiftly to draw political benefit from an unannounced search by FBI agents at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago home on Monday,” Politico reports.
“And they’re keeping tabs of Republicans who aren’t, in their view, sufficiently rushing to his defense.”
Said a person close to Trump: “They’re going to drastically use this to rally their allies, GOP leaders on Capitol Hill and juice for his political agenda and run for 2024. If there was a 99 percent chance it’s 100 percent now. He makes it part of his platform – going after the FBI.”
David Frum: “The former president has discovered a new test of power: using his own misconduct to compel party leaders to rally to him.”
