Congress can change the number of justices on the Supreme Court at any time, and has done so 7 times throughout history. Since 1869, the last time the court was expanded, the U.S. population has grown by over 800%, yet the court has stayed stagnant at 9 justices.

The danger with court packing is that it is a dangerous and addictive drug. What happens with a red Congress and red WH? Does it happen again with a blue Congress and blue WH? When either side can alter fundamental rights at a whim, then absolutely nothing is safe. Nobody wins.
