The media is reporting that bystanders were urging the loacl cops in Uvalde to rush into the school to confront the armed shooter….
Some of the bystander even talked about going in themselves…
Here’s some of what happened….
The school security saw the shooter first outside the school …
It is unknown if they shot at each other…
Two arriving local cops shot at the shooter and were fired on and hit….
Now most people do NOT know or understand HOW cops are trained to handle active shooters, with automatic weapons…
The procedure is to seal off the area….
Make sure the shooter is contained….
AND THEN WAIT FOR THE TACTICAL unit ot arrive…
(The SWAT guys you read about and asee on TV)
The report is that the shooter barricaed himself inside with his victims….
And that the tactical team for the US Border Patrol took 40 minutes to arrive and take down the shooter…
That is unfortunate and horrible…
But in the end?
The aftyer action review by officals will probably say the way the situation was handled by the cops and Border patrol was just haow the book says it was supposted to be for the most part…..
Frustrated onlookers urged police officers to charge into the Texas elementary school where a gunman’s rampage killed 19 children and two teachers, witnesses said Wednesday, as investigators worked to track the massacre that lasted upwards of 40 minutes and ended when the 18-year-old shooter was killed by a Border Patrol team.
“Go in there! Go in there!” nearby women shouted at the officers soon after the attack began, said Juan Carranza, 24, who saw the scene from outside his house, across the street from Robb Elementary School in the close-knit town of Uvalde. Carranza said the officers did not go in.
Javier Cazares, whose fourth grade daughter, Jacklyn Cazares, was killed in the attack, said he raced to the school when he heard about the shooting, arriving while police were still gathered outside the building.
Upset that police were not moving in, he raised the idea of charging into the school with several other bystanders.
“Let’s just rush in because the cops aren’t doing anything like they are supposed to,” he said. “More could have been done.”
“They were unprepared,” he added…
Note….
This story should NOT dispkace the Gun Control aspect involved…..

Update on Uvalde schools police chief …..
The Uvalde, Tex., school police chief accused of bungling the response to the mass shooting at Robb Elementary last month was placed Wednesday on an administrative leave amid growing furor over law enforcement delays in breaching the classroom.
Hal Harrell, the schools superintendent in the South Texas town, announced Pedro “Pete” Arredondo’s leave a day after the director of Texas’s Department of Public Safety lambasted the chief for his slow response to the shooting — including allegedly waiting for a key to an unlocked door before entering the room over an hour after arriving on the scene.
“From the beginning of this horrible event, I shared that the district would wait until the investigation was complete before making personnel decisions,” Harrell wrote. “Today, I am still without details of the investigations being conducted by various agencies. Because of the lack of clarity that remains and the unknown timing of when I will receive the results of the investigations, I have made the decision to place Chief Arredondo on administrative leave.”…
