Joe Biden IS lookig to hold on his job for a second term….
He has made some accomplishments in the last year and half….
He has NOT sold them to the public very well…
Some of us hope Donald Trump will try for a double or nothing which would feature Trump trying to sabotage himself probably….
For some of us Joe Biden has one problem…
He has NOT acted PRESIDENTAL…
How?
Modern day American President’s have had list of military failures during their terms….
But?
They have attempted to look strong with them…
Joe Biden has gone out of his way to NOT do this…
It has saved Americana soliders lives…No doubt…
But it has also branded Biden as a weak President in the eyes of voters…
Biden’s experience as a lawmaker and Vice President has taken away his ability to portray himself and a ‘fighter’….Biden the ‘unifier’ has shown the public a leader that often makes mistakes …Then looks ‘make peace’ at any cost….It gets things done sometimes but makes him look weak….Of course no modern day Presaident has had to wrestle with a pandemic and its YUGE effect on the American economy….
Running against Trump himself will probably earn him a second term…
But against someone who would come across as a fighter on the domestic or world stage I might guess will put the President in serious political trouble….
President Biden has told former President Obama that he is planning to run for reelection in 2024, two sources tell The Hill.
The admission to Obama is the latest indication that Biden is likely to run for a second term, something the president has spoken about publicly.
During a press conference in Brussels last month, he told reporters he’d be “very fortunate” to run against his rival in the 2020 election, former President Trump.
“[Biden] wants to run and he’s clearly letting everyone know,” said one of the two sources familiar with the conversations between Obama and Biden.
The source also said that Biden, despite his faltering approval ratings, remains the most likely Democratic candidate to defeat Trump. This was a key part of Biden’s salesmanship to voters as he sought support for his 2020 bid — and a big reason primary voters rallied to him in South Carolina and Super Tuesday states where he sealed his status as the Democratic front-runner.
“I believe he thinks he’s the only one who can beat Trump. I don’t think he thinks there’s anyone in the Democratic party who can beat Trump and that’s the biggest factor,” the source familiar with the Obama–Biden talks said….
…
Biden’s support has plunged among all demographic groups, including Democrats, Black voters and voters under 40. But those three groups in particular don’t include a lot of conservatives. It is possible that many voters who are lukewarm about Biden will ultimately still vote Democratic. With Biden in the low 40s, it’s hard to see Democrats winning the 51 percent or so of the national popular vote that they would need to keep the House and Senate. But there is reason to think they could outperform today’s dire projections.
Ultimately, I wonder whether we have simply entered an era in which presidents are always going to be unpopular. The parties are increasingly divided internally. So the wing of the party that lost the primary — for the Democrats today, that’s younger and more progressive voters — might never be fully satisfied with a president from the same party but opposite wing.
But even if we don’t know exactly why Biden is unpopular and what that means for the future, one thing is clear — emphasizing unity and ducking divisive issues hasn’t worked. The Obama and Biden presidencies have together proved that. And now we’ve learned that being old, White and male doesn’t make this approach any more effective.
Biden tried to be popular and unifying — and is neither. His failings discredit his political approach — and it’s the same one that has dominated the Democratic Party for decades.
