The ex-Americxan President has virtually no support from fellow Republicans in his priase for Putin effort to level the Ukraine….
In fact?
Everyday?
Donald Trump looks like he got ‘played’ by Validimir Putin for his support of the man and his efforts to walk away from NATO and Europe…
One wonders if Trump is that stupid and gullible or, does Putin REALLY have something on the American ex-President?
Sen. Lindsey Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, said on Wednesday that he thinks it “was a mistake” for former President Donald Trump to call Russian President Vladimir Putin a genius.
Sen. Lindsey Graham’s suggestion that Russians should assassinate President Vladimir Putin has drawn the ire of Republicans and Democrats concerned over the war in Ukraine.
“Is there a Brutus in Russia? Is there a more successful Colonel Stauffenberg in the Russian military?” the South Carolina Republican asked in a tweet.
Roman Emperor Julius Caesar was assassinated by Brutus and others in the Rome Senate on the Ides of March. Graham was also referring to German Lt. Col. Claus von Stauffenberg, who tried to kill Adolf Hitler in the summer of 1944.
“The only way this ends is for somebody in Russia to take this guy out. You would be doing your country – and the world – a great service,” Graham said….

Former Vice President Mike Pence on Friday condemned Republican “apologists” who have used positive language to describe Russian President Vladimir Putin amid his invasion of Ukraine, according to a source who was in the room as Pence spoke to top GOP donors.
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who has been laying the groundwork for his own potential presidential run, has largely abandoned the language he was criticized for using before the invasion, when had called Putin “very capable” and said he had “enormous respect for him.” Even Tucker Carlson, the popular Fox News host who had openly questioned why he shouldn’t side with Russia over Ukraine, has tried to walk back his pro-Russia rhetoric, saying, “We’ve been taken by surprise by the whole thing.”
That’s left Trump relatively isolated, defending his decision to label Putin as “smart” and criticizing the response from Biden and other Western leaders, even as he has denounced the invasion as “horrific” and a “very sad thing for the world.”
That has earned rebuke from some in his party.
In a speech to GOP donors Friday night, Pence forcefully defended NATO and admonished those who have defended Putin as he, too, weighs a presidential run….

“If you’re a Republican, you’re never in a bad situation if you are pushing against Russia or China,” said veteran GOP strategist Doug Heye. “Talking tough on Russia and acting tough on Russia is firm political ground.”….

McCarthy Breaks with Trump Over Ukraine
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy gently broke from former President Donald Trump’s past warm words about the capabilities of Vladimir Putin, Politico reports.
Said McCarthy: “I do not think anything savvy or genius about Putin. I think Putin is evil. I think he’s a dictator. I think he’s murdering people right now.”
Asked if he agreed there’s no room in the Republican Party for those that apologize for Putin, McCarthy replied: “Yeah.”
