Ok lets get a reality check here…
Western leaders including President Biden and the Ukraine President can say all they want….
But the people on the ground in Donetsk and Luhansk are gonna have no problem with coming under the control of Russia…
They have identified with Russia for some time….
They will gladly walk away from the Ukraine, something they’ve wanted to do….
Check your TV….
There are little if any reports of resistance in the area’s…
Reporters doing stands have people going about their business in the backgrounds….
Right now?
Russian President Vladimir Putin IS getting what he wants from the Ukraine…
The question will be?
How far does the Russian Pac-Man moves go….
Right now?
Their moves maybe actually making some ‘former’ Ukrainians feeling fine…
That as the Joe Biden and European’s get all excited and throw down sanctions, watching and waiting to see how much of the Ukraine Putins wants to bite off….
Biden so far has NOT dropped sanctions on Russia ….
(Remember Afghanistan ?)
The Biden administration sought to hit back at Russia’s aggressive action while stopping short of declaring that it had officially invaded Ukraine, which would have triggered the array of hard-hitting sanctions President Biden has been warning about for months…
…
Still, the administration official repeatedly refused to say whether Putin’s decision to send “peacekeeping” troops into the two Russian-backed separatist areas constituted a red-line invasion in the eyes of the Biden administration. If anything, the official tried to portray Monday’s developments as far short of a dramatic change in the status quo.
“Russia has occupied these regions since 2014,” said the official, a point he emphasized several times throughout the call. “It has been Russia’sposition that there are not Russian forces present in this part of the Donbas. The reality, as we pointed out on a number of occasions over these past years, has been quite different. There have been Russian forces present in these areas throughout.”…

Limited sanctions from Biden admin….
The United States and its allies on Tuesday swiftly imposed economic sanctions on Russia for what President Biden denounced as the beginning of an “invasion of Ukraine,” unveiling a set of coordinated punishments as Western officials confirmed that Russian forces had begun crossing the Ukrainian border.
Speaking from the White House, Mr. Biden condemned President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia and said the immediate consequences for his aggression against Ukraine included the loss of a key natural gas pipeline and cutting off global financing to two Russian banks and a handful of the country’s elites….

According to an AP NORC Poll only 26% of Americans want the US to take a “major “ role in the Ukraine matter.52% want to take a”minor” role ,while 20% don’t want us involved at all.
The problem with such a poll of course is that “major” and “minor” are not defined.
Zreebs says
Count me as supporting a major role – provided that does not include American troops!
If the US can encourage worldwide sanctions, it will have some effect – even if it only to Inhibit future incursions.

Biden IS gonna carry Afghanistan on his back ….
He is not a strong military might President
I’m not saying we should go to war with Putin…
BUT?
Biden IS gonna look weak if Putin eats up the Ukraine in whole….
Worst would be American’s trapped there and Biden sticking with they’re on their own…..

Actually they can count me in too Zreebs, we’re worried about our relatives there. No word yet.
But here’s the latest, Russian and Belarus troops have crossed the Ukraine border from the North and are on their way to the Capitol. When the cockroaches come out it’s always at night.
Today is was reported that Putin pledged the “denazification” of Ukraine, of course President Zelenskyy is Jewish. I guess he didn’t notice his stooge in Belarus is a Nazi.
The Republican leadership blamed, like our host James, this whole event on Biden because he is weak. Mitch McConnell on Tuesday, said Putin would not have been emboldened to send upwards of 150,000 troops to the Ukrainian border “had we not precipitously withdrawn from Afghanistan.” Back in 2014, Miss Lindsey blamed the first Russian invasion of Ukraine on Benghazi.
As Michael McFaul, the former U.S. ambassador to Russia said tonight…….”There’s going to come a moment of truth very soon.”
“There is an autocratic Putin that’s about to attack a democratic Ukraine, and if all the intelligence is right, tens of thousands of people are going to die, and Mr. Pompeo’s comments and Mr. Trump’s comments are going to look atrocious…… when it was good and evil, they were standing next to evil.”
“They always talk about ‘Biden’s weak, Biden’s week, Biden’s weak. What makes us weak in the world is when we are divided amongst ourselves when it’s a clearcut thing between good and evil. We are on the eve of probably the biggest war in Europe since 1939, and what are they focused on? Attacking the president of the United States.”
I don’t think I need to point out that if Trump had gotten a second term he would have refused to cooperate with NATO, denied shared intelligence to the Ukrainians, and basically given the country to Putin.
But back to Biden being weak. He has played this whole event masterfully. Clearly he learned valuable lessons from the loss of the Crimea. He started from the very beginning telegraphing what Putin was about to do as opposed to what he said he would do. Those revelations helped to bring our allies and the whole world on board with sanctions that will, in the long run, have a serious impact on the Russian economy. Putin is planning to wear us down with a long occupation and it will be up to us to keep the Ukrainians in the game until the Russian economy responds.
I suspect James has been talking to the tough guys at his place of work again. Biden has to “carry Afghanistan on his back,” whatever that means? Biden did the right thing in Afghanistan and now he is doing the right thing in the Ukraine.
But Biden looks weak right?
I think one of the real problems with James is he doesn’t really understand how any of this works.

Also our intelligence got this exactly right. Unlike WMD in Iraq in 2003 and 9-11.
Zreebs says
So far, I give Biden an A for his handling of the Ukraine situation.
I am appalled, but not surprised that so many “conservatives” are siding with Communist leader of Russia. Asif Putin gets his way inUkraine with the help of the GOP traitors, he will stop with Ukraine?
Scott P says
Putin’s a despotic bigoted bully. Of course the GOP under the thumb of Trump admires him.
This will hurt them with independents though.
